Katy Perry revealed that she’s 5 weeks sober — and even made a no-alcohol pact with her fiancé Orlando Bloom.
The singer and “American Idol” judge said that she and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor vowed to not reach for the booze for three months.
“I’ve been sober for five weeks today,” she told People at a curated cocktail event at NYC’s Mister Paradise on Monday.
“I’ve been doing a pact with my partner [fiancé Orlando Bloom] and I want to quit,” she said while jokingly pretending to wipe her tears away.
After fellow “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan asked if she was going to give in and have a drink, the “Teenage Dream” hitmaker was quick to say no.
“No, girl! I can’t cave. I made a promise. Three months,” she responded, referring to her “pact” with Bloom.
The “Never Really Over” hitmaker, who co-founded a line of non-alcoholic apéritifs last year, kickstarted her relationship with the actor in January 2016.
But over a year later in March 2017, they announced via their reps that they were “taking a respectful, loving space at this time.”

Perry later revealed that she was nearly suicidal when they called it quits.

They reconciled and rekindled their love later that year.
The pair made their red carpet debut in September 2018 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.
In March 2020, the “Roar” singer announced she was pregnant with the couple’s first child together, debuting her baby bump in her “Never Worn White” music video.
In August 2020, Perry announced that she gave birth to their daughter, Daisy Dove.
And while the pair’s relationship may seem like it has been nothing but smooth sailing, Bloom recently opened up about the challenges they’ve had to face to be together.
“We’re in two very different pools,” Bloom told Flaunt magazine in a cover story last month.
“Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging.”
Bloom said navigating their busy work schedules while being long-distance at large periods of time is the toughest part of their union.
“I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity, [but] I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there’s definitely never a dull moment,” he added.
