Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau seem to be thriving in their relationship.
The 41-year-old pop star recently posted a picture on Instagram on January 7, capturing a tender moment as she leaned in to kiss the 54-year-old former Canadian Prime Minister during their beachside getaway. In the snapshot, Trudeau could be seen sporting a bright smile, complemented by dark sunglasses and a casual white T-shirt.
“Holidaze ♥️,” Perry captioned the post, which also included snapshots from various holiday activities. One image showed a candlelit table with four place cards for “Katy,” “Orlando” (her ex, Orlando Bloom), “Flynn” (Bloom’s 14-year-old son, whom he shares with former wife Miranda Kerr) and “Daisy” (Perry and Bloom’s 5-year-old daughter).
Just last month, an insider shared with Us Weekly that the couple had plans to celebrate New Year’s together, describing them as “very smitten and into each other.”
According to sources, Perry finds Trudeau to be a source of inspiration and is quite impressed with his achievements, describing him as “a great match for her.”
Perry and Trudeau were first seen together in July when the pop star brought her Lifetimes Tour to Canada. Weeks later, a source told Us that the twosome were “very interested in each other” and intent on keeping their relationship “private.”
That October, they surfaced in Paris to celebrate Perry’s birthday.
“Katy is really into it. She’s very happy,” an insider revealed to Us back then. “She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.”
In early December, Perry and Trudeau made their official debut as a couple while dining with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Trudeau split from Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the mother of his three children, in 2023 following 18 years of marriage. As for Perry, she and ex-fiancé Bloom, 48, parted ways in early 2025, calling off their engagement after 10 years together.
“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” their reps confirmed in a joint statement last summer. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
The exes remain friendly, even reuniting in London over the holidays to bring Daisy and Flynn to see Paddington: The Musical at the Savoy Theatre. The group appeared in photos that were posted by the official Paddington Instagram account, which declared in a caption, “A rather splendid turn out if we do say so ourselves!”
Bloom addressed his breakup with the “Firework” singer in a recent interview on the Today show.
“I’m so grateful,” he said at the time. “We have the most beautiful daughter. You know, when you leave everything on the field, like I did in [my movie The Cut], I feel grateful for all of it. We’re great [and] we’re going to be great. It’s nothing but love.”
