A fan of Keith Urban has alleged that the singer alluded to his impending divorce from Nicole Kidman weeks before it became public knowledge.
Nicole Kidman officially filed for divorce from Urban on September 30. However, Dale Whiteside, a devoted fan, mentioned that during Urban’s High And Alive World Tour stop in Saskatoon, Canada, on September 15, the singer subtly hinted at their separation.
Whiteside, who shares a striking resemblance to the “Let It Roll” artist, recounted to TMZ a personal encounter with Urban where they humorously discussed their similar appearances.
During their conversation, Whiteside shared an anecdote about a couple at a music festival who initially mistook him for Urban. The confusion was cleared up when the couple noticed that Whiteside wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.
The fan further explained that he jokingly told Urban that the main differences between them were the absence of a wedding ring and Urban’s distinctive tattoos.
Then, after taking a photo together, Whiteside claimed Urban told him, “Next time, it’ll probably be just the tattoos.”
Whiteside said he didn’t know what Urban meant until two weeks later when Kidman, 58, and Urban’s split news emerged.
A rep for Urban didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Page Six confirmed on Sept. 29 that Urban and the “Moulin Rouge!” actress had separated after 19 years of marriage.
“Sometimes relationships just run their course,” an insider told Page Six at the time, adding that Kidman “did not want the separation and was trying to save things.”
However, the “Big Little Lies” star filed for divorce the following day, citing the standard “irreconcilable differences.”
She also included a parenting plan for their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
The Oscar-winning actress and the 58-year-old singer had been living apart “since the beginning of summer,” multiple sources claimed to TMZ at the time.
