Kelly Ripa recently opened up about her challenging return to routine after the holiday season.

“This morning I woke up feeling completely out of sorts,” Ripa confessed during the inaugural 2026 episode of “Live! With Kelly and Mark,” as she sat next to her husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos.

“Having just returned from vacation, I was unsure of my surroundings. I started getting ready in dim light because I prefer not to flood the room with brightness; I don’t want the bedroom fully lit while I’m applying makeup,” she elaborated.

The 55-year-old continued, “I grabbed what I thought was my foundation stick and began applying it. Something seemed off, but I just kept layering it on more and more.”

“So, if I appear unusual to you this morning, it’s because I mistakenly applied contour all over my face,” she concluded with a chuckle.

Forever the supportive partner, Consuelos quickly told her “You look great!”

“Well, I look great,” she admitted, though adding, “I look like I’ve been somewhere. Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, you’re tan.’ I’m not. I used a contour stick as foundation.”

A true pro, Ripa is always candid about her mishaps — and has learned to roll with the punches. Just ahead of the Christmas holiday, the pair opened the show with the actress adjusting her wardrobe.

“I’m still getting dressed,” she told the audience, adding, “Hey guys, I’m not going to lie, 10 seconds ago, I was not dressed at all. And now I’m sort of half-dressed.”

“Look, it’s fine. We’re all together,” to which she added, “I think my fly is up, we’re fine, we’re fine. Somehow we made it.”
