Things can get heated during a Piers Morgan interview, just ask Jim Jefferies during his appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher… Piers Morgan has a polarizing history, and he isn’t afraid to ban guests from his interviews either.
Madonna is a name that instantly comes to mind, given their lengthy feud that has made headlines time and time again.
Given his rocky history of marriages, Kelsey Grammer isn’t always overly eager to discuss his past. Piers Morgan had to learn this the hard way, after Grammer’s requests were completely disregarded.
We’ll take a look at what went on, and why Grammer decided to leave the interview.
Kelsey Grammer Has Strict Rules When It Comes To Discussing His Divorce
Kelsey Grammer had more than a few failed marriages, which all started alongside Doreen Alderman back in 1990 when the two separated after an eight-year marriage. Grammer would follow that up with a year-long marriage alongside Leigh-Anne Csuhany in the early ’90s.
Next up, came arguably his most problematic marriage, alongside Camille Meyer, his wife of over a decade.
According to Camille, things didn’t end on good terms between the two sides, so much so that her children can’t make mention of ‘mom’ when they’re in Grammer’s household.
Camille told Anderson Cooper, “They’re not allowed to same my name in the house. These poor kids, my daughter and my son, can’t say my name in their father’s house.”
“I think they can say ‘Mom’ or ‘The other household,’” she adds. “But they can’t say my name. They can’t say ‘Camille.”
Grammer’s ex tried to change this, however, it was to no avail given that the custody rights were already settled in court. Turns out, his household isn’t the only place Grammer doesn’t want to hear about his ex-wife…

Kelsey Grammer Was Against Any Photos Of His Ex-Camille Grammer During The Telecast, But The Show Didn’t Listen
In fairness to Kelsey Grammer, he was willing to discuss his ex-wife, he just made it clear, he didn’t want to see a photo of her during the intro to his interview.
Piers Morgan decided to stir things up, tweeting out that Grammer had fled from the interview, while ripping the actor for his behavior.
“So, Kelsey Grammer saw a photo of his ex wife Camille in the open to our show and legged it. Extraordinary. Never had this happen before. … I like Kelsey Grammer personally, but this was a shockingly unprofessional thing to do. I wasn’t even going to mention his ex-wife,” Morgan told THR.
Morgan wasn’t telling the entire truth as Grammer’s team would step in to settle things. It was revealed that the team instantly told Morgan’s show to remove the photo of Camille and in fact, they had agreed.
“His only request was not to show any images of her. Just before the show went live, Kelsey saw a test of the opening and it included an image of Camille.”
“Publicists asked producers that it be removed and were assured it would be before the show went live. At 9:00pm we were all sitting in the greenroom and saw no change’s had been made. That’s when Kelsey and his team left,” the source said.
Given that the producers didn’t follow up on their end of the deal, Grammer decided to leave the interview and backstage area. In truth, although he got banned from the show, he’s far from the only one…
Kelsey Grammer Wasn’t The Only Guest Banned By Piers Morgan
Morgan issued a few others bans himself. Among them, includes his lengthy rivalry with Madonna, as the two sides still don’t see eye-to-eye. Problems between the two started during the mid-’90s, according to Morgan.
“Madonna and I, we’ve never really seen eye-to-eye,” he said.
“There was a bread roll throwing incident in London in the mid ’90s; there was an incident at a hotel in the south of France [at] the Cannes Film Festival involving a photographer and a bodyguard; there’s been an incident involving a pub owned by her recently departed husband, Guy Ritchie, where my brother was the manager.”
On the flip side, hosts have also banned Morgan from their own shows. That includes Rosie O’Donnell, who had Piers banned for the simple fact that the host banned Madonna from his show, for no reason, according to Rosie.
