Kevin Sorbo’s relationship with former co-star Lucy Lawless did not age well. Some celebrities who work together become good friends. There are some who even remain friends for life. Others are unable to get along, and might end up feuding with one another. Sometimes celebrity feuds can even last for years.
It seems a feud developed between actors Lucy Lawless and Kevin Sorbo, who have previously worked together. Their feud has also been ongoing, lasting for years. Apparently some of the things said by one of them during interviews during their feud hasn’t been appropriate. And as Lawless and Sorbo’s feud has continued, their relationship has not seemed to improve. Lucy Lawless and former co-star Kevin Sorbo’s relationship has not aged well.
How Did Lucy Lawless And Kevin Sorbo’s Feud Begin?
Some celebrities meet and are able to form quick friendships. Sometimes those friendships even last for years, even lifetimes. Other celebrities might not be able to get along so easily. Some celebrities even start out as friends before things go downhill, and they become enemies.
It seems Lucy Lawless and Kevin Sorbo’s feud might have begun in 2001. According to Newsweek, Sorbo gave an interview to SFX magazine in which he criticized Lawless’ show, Xena: Warrior Princess.
Sorbo stated, “In that show, they had two issues that separated it from Hercules: one, it was heavily into lesbianism, as people know, and number two: it was heavily into violence. It was far more violent than Hercules was.”
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, included Lucy Lawless’ character, Xena. This led to spin-off show, Xena: Warrior Princess.
Continuing to appear to complain further about Lawless’ show, the Hercules actor went on to say, “Xena took all my directors, they took half my writing staff, they took everybody to go and work for that show. They took half my crew! So, you know, it upset a few people, including myself”.
Sorbo continued, commenting, “But I just think of it as like, why are you stabbing us in the back? We’re the show that started it!”
As bad as Sorbo’s initial comments towards Lawless’ show seem, they appear to only worsen over the years, and even became more personal.
What Has Kevin Sorbo Said About Lucy Lawless During Interviews?
Sometimes celebrities get into feuds, and even will go public with their fighting. Often things can be said while people are feeling emotional and angry that they don’t mean, especially if they have been working long days.
However, sometimes celebrities can also make comments during interviews that might seem uncalled-for. There have been some comments Kevin Sorbo has made about Lucy Lawless that seem to have been intentionally offensive.

According to geekthings.co, Sorbo made some harsh comments about Lawless herself during an interview with FilmStew. The Andromeda actor stated, I think Lucy got a small part in it because she’s married to Sam Raimi’s partner, Rob Tapert. She started having an affair with him down in New Zealand.”
Sorbo continued, saying, “She left her husband, and he left his wife of 15 years. So that’s how that whole thing got together.” According to the article, “Sorbo lied about specific details of her relationship, Lucy and her former husband Garth were divorced before Xena even got started.”
Sorbo also remarked in the interview, “I think I’m a good enough actor that he can put me in a secondary part in one of his feature films. It would be nice if he did that. I think he’s holding a grudge over me. He wanted me to do a movie back in ’96 when I decided to do Kull the Conquerer. He wanted me to do his movie, and quite frankly, the movie was horrible.”
He added, “If the movie was so great, let me ask you this, how come he never made it with someone else?”
Sorbo’s comments didn’t sound good at the time, and it seems as though they sound even worse as time goes on.
Are Lucy Lawless And Kevin Sorbo Still At Odds?
Some celebrities who have been feuding are able to patch things up. Sometimes it seems other celebrities might not be able to work out their differences.
Even today, it seems Lucy Lawless and Kevin Sorbo still have a bad relationship with one another. It appears the two might continue their feud into the future.
According to the Evening Standard, it seems the most recent time the two were at odds was when Sorbo repeat something on Twitter Lawless had to respond to.
Sorbo “appeared to repeat a far-right conspiracy theory that the rioters were in fact ‘Antifa’ in disguise. Retweeting a picture of bearded men walking through the halls of the Capitol carrying Trump 2020 flags claiming the attackers were ‘leftist agitators,’ Sorbo added his own comment: ‘They don’t look like patriots to me…'”
Responding to this, the actor replied, “No, Peanut. They are not Patriots. They are your flying monkeys, homegrown terrorists, QAnon actors. They are the d********* that go out and do the evil bidding of people like you who like to wind them up like toys and let them do their worst. #keepingYourFilthyHandsclean #enabler”.
According to a different Newsweek article, the Salem actor discussed the Twitter argument. “Those people who just foment ugliness from a distance, I think they deserve to be called out. So, that’s all that was.”
