Kim Kardashian is busy plotting for her kids to become the next generation of A-list talent, but a source exclusively tells In Touch she’s butting heads with mom Kris Jenner — who is angling for them to follow in the Kardashian family footsteps and continue their reality franchise instead.
The SKIMS founder, 44, has already been hard at work as the “momager” of her eldest kid, 11-year-old North West, and she plans on continuing the project for her other three by ex Kanye West: Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. “Kim is mapping out a plan for North and all her kids,” the insider reveals. “She’s got a great team working with her, she knows all the right people and studio heads, and she’s calling the shots.”
The Kardashians star explained how she approaches career-building opportunities for her daughter, telling podcast host Sara Foster, “She’ll get an offer to do a photo shoot or something. And like, we really sit and talk about it as a family.
“Like, ‘Should she do this? What’s too much? What’s not?’” she said. Kim also expressed some trepidation about pushing the younger ones into the spotlight, opting to let them feel out how they want to eventually fit in. “I can’t, like … they’re already in it, right? Because just of who their parents are,” she explained. “And so I try to protect that and be so mindful of them being their own people and them not feeling like they have to, you know, be in our shadows.”
“She’s signing North up for photo shoots and voiceovers and she’s thinking up lucrative deals for the other ones, too,” the source adds. “She wants the best for her kids and unlike Kris, she’s not pushing them.”

A different source previously told Life & Style the 69-year-old Kardashian matriarch has been sweating bullets over declining ratings and feels her reality empire is slipping through her fingers as her daughters move on to different projects and expand their own personal brands. “She’s always thinking ahead,” that insider explained. “It’s been high on her agenda for years to build the next generation of her family empire, which is why she’s been slowly phasing the kids into the show.”
But standing in Kris’ way is her own daughter, Kim, who is throwing up a shield against her kids being thrust into the limelight against their will, especially after suffering through the ongoing, public meltdown of their dad for so many years.
“They don’t have to do this unless they want to, of course,” the insider says, which means “Kris is fuming.”
The famously savvy momager that brought the family to soaring heights has designs in mind for her grandchildren that revolve around their show, The Kardashians. “She has her own plans for her grandkids, first of all that they join the family show franchise,” the insider reveals.
“Kris thinks Kim owes it to her after all she’s done for her, but Kim doesn’t see it that way, of course.”
“They’re both so stubborn, it’s gearing up to be a major collision course and people around them are covering their eyes.”
