Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner have responded to Ray J’s latest lawsuit against them, following their own defamation suit against the singer. This legal back-and-forth has captured the public’s attention as both parties make serious allegations.
In a statement to Page Six on Thursday, Alex Spiro, the attorney representing Kardashian and Jenner, dismissed Ray J’s legal action as “frivolous.” He remarked, “As he sees his case slipping away, this erratic attempt to divert attention isn’t intimidating anyone. Ray J is poised to lose this baseless case as well.”
Ray J’s lawsuit reiterates his longstanding accusations that Kardashian and Jenner have misled the public for years regarding the infamous 2007 sex tape leak. He insists that the reality stars orchestrated the release of the tape, which he says was consensually filmed in 2003 during his relationship with Kardashian.
According to the documents obtained by Page Six, Ray J, now 44, claims that he and Kardashian, who is 45, discussed the possibility of releasing the tape in 2006. He alleges that Kardashian suggested her mother should oversee its release, further fueling his accusations against them.
Ray J, 44, claimed in the filing obtained by Page Six that he and Kardashian, 45, discussed releasing the tape in 2006, and that she allegedly told him that her mother should be in charge of releasing it.
He claimed that Jenner and Kardashian are now “furious” that he “no longer wants to play along with their tall tale.”
Ray J, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., also hit back at Kardashian and Jenner’s lawsuit against him for defamation, which they filed in October.
“Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner’s lawsuit is not about defamation — it’s about publicity, power, and punishment,” he claimed in the court docs.
Kardashian and Jenner filed the defamation lawsuit shortly after Ray J made the shocking claim that he’s working with the feds to build a RICO case against them.
“The federal RICO I’m about to drop on Kris and Kim is about to be crazy,” the singer told Chrisean Rock during a livestream that circulated on X.
“I’m talking about, I’m on the news every day. I’m gonna say a lot of s–t. Anybody that is cool with Kim, they need to tell her now, the feds is coming. There’s nothing I can do about it.”
He added, “It’s worse than Diddy.”
But in Kardashian and Jenner’s lawsuit against Ray J, they stated that “no such federal investigation exists.”
“No law enforcement agency has initiated any criminal proceedings or investigations related to racketeering charged against Ms. Kardashian or Ms. Jenner and no credible evidence whatsoever supports these inflammatory allegations,” their lawsuit reads, which was obtained by Page Six.
“Unable to accept the end of his fleeting relationship with Ms. Kardashian over 20 years ago, Ray J has repeatedly sought to attach himself to Plaintiffs’ names and exploit their prominence for personal gain,” the lawsuit also states.
