In the newest installment of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian navigates the complexities of single life post-divorce. Following her separation from renowned musician Kanye West, she is learning to balance the challenges of coparenting while tentatively re-entering the dating scene.
During a reflective moment in the latest episode of the Hulu reality series, Kim opened up about the harrowing Paris robbery that left a lasting impact on her. She revealed the added pain of discovering that many in her circle, including her former spouse, doubted the legitimacy of her ordeal.
Recalling the traumatic experience, Kim expressed her distress over the skepticism she faced, with some accusing her of fabricating the incident for publicity. The robbery occurred in 2016, during her visit to Paris for fashion week, when armed intruders stormed her hotel room, leaving her shaken.
Kim Said People Claimed She Lied About The Robbery
Looking back on the terrible moment, Kim admitted it hurt her to hear that people thought she was making the robbery story up just for the sake of attention. The robbery took place back in 2016 while Kim was visiting Paris for fashion week, and she was held at gunpoint by masked men in her hotel room.
Some of Kim’s family members also spoke to the cameras about how frustrating it was to see people accuse Kim of lying. She felt hurt so many people didn’t believe her,” her sister Khloé said. “I definitely remember people even in the vicinity near us questioning if this really happened, and that was really gross,” she added.
Her mother Kris also had some strong words on the matter:
The narrative that my daughter would make something like this up was ludicrous. It was just unfathomable that somebody could have said something like that.
Though ten people were eventually convicted for the robbery, Kim says she still remains haunted by the incident today.
Kim Said Kanye Doesn’t Believe Her
As things continued to grow strained in her marriage to Kanye, Kim said that he, too, eventually accused her of lying about being robbed. While several other people had already told her they didn’t believe her account, Kim told the cameras that hearing this from Kanye was the most hurtful of all:
Even my ex-husband had said, ‘You’ve faked your robbery for a TV show.’ And he had said that in front of all these people. That was a knife to my heart. Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you that is so close to you, that should know you and that should know how much that affected your life.
“It just really bothered me. Like, ‘You don’t know who I am?’” she continued. “So to finally be able to go to trial, face these people and hear their accounts and apologies, I’m like, ‘Guys, it was real, you know?’ I’m happy it’s over,” she added.
