Kim Kardashian is determined to rise above the spectacle that’s being inflicted on her by ex-husband Kanye West, and a source exclusively tells In Touch her primary focus right now is maintaining a calm and drama-free household for her four children at all costs.
As the “Stronger” rapper, 47, spirals publicly once again, the reality star, 44, is attempting to protect the four kids they share together — North, 11, and Chicago, 7, and sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 5 — from any of Kanye’s wild statements as his interviews and social media posts make their way through the news cycle. “As much as she and everyone in the family is freaking out, no one is allowed to mention a word about Kanye and everything that’s happening if the kids are home,” the source says. The vow of silence also extends to others taking the opportunity criticizing Kim’s ex husband around her family, which many of the Kardashians are eager to do considering his recent conduct.
“There’s certainly no trash talking allowed, the last thing she wants is for her kids to suffer added trauma,” the insider explains.
Besides selling swastika merchandise, proclaiming himself a Nazi, wearing KKK-looking attire and other provocative behavior that seems to be a mixture of desperate attention-seeking post album release and a genuine mental health episode, Kanye recently did something unthinkable to most parents — publicly stating he didn’t want to have his children.
“I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with them, but that wasn’t God’s plan,” Ye told podcaster DJ Akademiks. He went on to rail against the “Kardashian Mob” he claimed made his life hell during their eight-year marriage, which lasted from 2014 to 2022.
“It’s absolutely horrifying, and she won’t be able to shield them from this forever, but they’re still young and she’s doing her best,” the source says of Kim’s efforts to protect the children. “So that means she’s limiting social media, the news is not turned on, she’s trying to keep them busy and just sticking to the routine as usual.”
Kim even apparently cut Kanye’s visitation with North short after learning recently-freed “manosphere” social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate were en route to hang out with the rapper. The brothers had just returned from their detention in Romania, where they had been arrested and charged with rape and human trafficking. Though they denied all the charges and did return to the United States, the Florida Department of Justice as well as law enforcement in the U.K. are currently looking into even more accusations of sex crimes against them.
According to the source, despite Kanye’s antics, Kim is stressing over her ex’s wellbeing as the whole world leers at his implosion.
“Watching Kanye in such a terrible stage and not having anyone step in to help him is so devastating. She’s completely beside herself with where this is headed. All she can do right now is try her best to keep this from her kids so they can remain innocent for as long as possible.”
