It appears that Simmons had been waiting until the right time before she got in front of the cameras again. In an interview with ET in 2022, she revealed that she had been offered a role on Bravo’s The Real Housewives and that producers give her a call “every season.”

“Different producers call me all the time. They call me to try to be part of their show all the time,” she said. At the time, she said her inclusion was still to be decided, but the drama of Real Housewives put her off. “Here’s what I just don’t understand, I don’t watch TV, are they mean to each other? Are they rude to each other? Because the clips I’ve seen, things I’ve heard, they’re kind of fighting,” she said. “Are they going to, like, invite you to a dinner party and then edit it to look a certain way?”

Instead, she has a different approach to reality shows. “I want to compel people, teach people, aspire people, uplift them,” she said. “I want to show them how to be bad b’s, how to look great, feel great, manage everything. Fall apart if you have to, but get back up and keep going. That’s what I want to show on TV.” Her return to reality TV with Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane may be Simmons’ opportunity to do exactly what she had hoped.
