General Hospital alumna Kirsten Storms recently addressed the public concerning her daughter amidst a custody battle with her ex-husband, Brandon Barash.
“Please remember that we’re real people who are divorced and raising a child,” Storms, at age 42, expressed through Instagram on Sunday, July 19. “Your supportive comments mean a lot, but my daughter is now at an age where she’ll be Googling her name on the bus to school. So, I’m kindly asking for an end to the speculation around this matter.”
Storms’ relationship with her former co-star, Barash, 46, took a turn in 2016 when they parted ways. However, the headlines caught fire in April following Barash’s filing of an emergency restraining order against her, as revealed by legal documents obtained by Us at the time. Alongside this, Barash sought custody of their 12-year-old daughter, Harper Rose, in December 2025. The couple had initially agreed on a co-parenting arrangement, transitioning from California to Tennessee that same year.
In her heartfelt Instagram post, Storms opened up about the transformative role Harper has played in her life. “Everything shifted after having Harper,” she reflected. “I swear I’m done mentioning my medical situation—I’ll stick to awkward jokes. But, understanding the importance of time and what truly matters became a priority following my 2021 brain cyst and 2025 brain aneurysm, along with subsequent treatments.”

The actress also took the opportunity to comment on her current relationship with Barash. “I will briefly acknowledge that there is an ongoing situation with Brandon that will be getting sorted out (soon hopefully),” Storms wrote. “I would appreciate (and encourage) for people … not to worry about me, or think there is something larger going on, other than 2 ex-spouses dealing with a “disagreement” that WILL be resolved.”
