The Valley's Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick Put Wedding Plans on Pause Ahead of Baby's Birth, Talks Plans to Move Out of Los Angeles

Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick have put their wedding plans on hold.

As The Valley cast members await the upcoming birth of their first child, a baby girl, Kristen, 42, and Luke, 34, who began dating in late 2022 and got engaged in September 2024, have decided to put their wedding plans on hold as they admit that when it comes to living in Los Angeles, they are “absolutely” not planning to stay there forever.

“We’ll probably start talking about [a wedding] next year. It could happen next year,” Kristen told Bravo’s The Daily Dish on May 14. “I don’t know. I don’t want to wait too long, but I think we need to settle into being parents and this whole chapter of our lives and really know what we’re doing before we try to plan anything else.”

Agreeing that the baby will come “first,” Luke added, “We’ll see how long it takes to really get a handle on it to where we can start planning a wedding, but yeah, I try not to get too far ahead of myself … I planned this engagement and I put a lot of effort into it, so now as I’m passing the torch, I said, ‘Let me know when you want me to pick between this and that, and I’m here for you.’”

During a separate interview, Luke, who hails from Colorado and recently bought land in Indiana, admitted that he doesn’t really consider Los Angeles “home.”

“It is for the short term,” Luke told Entertainment Tonight of living in Los Angeles. “I don’t know that I’ll ever call it home, but it is where we are for the time being … My home is with Kristen. Unfortunately, we’re in Los Angeles right now.”

“Home is just wherever we are, you know, for the time being. It’s not our permanent home,” Kristen replied.

With her June 17 due date just weeks away, Kristen has been “nesting” and adding to her “honey-do list” for Luke.

“Collectively, we’ve realized it’s not about getting ready for the baby, like her room or her things, which we are doing. But it became more about how do we make the house easier for us? How do we organize for us so when we don’t have time for anything and we’re super tired as we’ve been told, that everything just kind of falls into place?” she explained. 

“My list keeps getting longer,” Luke noted. 

The Valley season two airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
