Kristin Davis is opening up about a charming Hollywood memory, recalling a dinner date with the late Friends star Matthew Perry.

The 60-year-old actress shared the story on the Monday, August 18, episode of her “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast, giving fans a glimpse into a moment between two iconic 90s actors.

Kristin explained that sometime between her roles on Melrose Place and Sex and the City, an attorney friend arranged for her to go on a date with Matthew.

“It was a dinner party. It was so low-key,” Kristin recalled, noting that the evening took place between 1997 and 1999.

She added, “It’s a bunch of Hollywood people. I don’t even know who was there other than this lawyer and Matthew. Matthew’s lovely. He sits next to me. And he’s talking about how thrilled he is, how happy they are on the set at Friends, and he was doing a film with Salma Hayek. I was like, ‘Wow, he’s so happy.’”

Although their romance didn’t develop further after that dinner, Kristin said she was struck by how genuinely happy Matthew seemed during the evening.

Tragically, Matthew passed away in October 2023 at age 54 from an apparent drowning at his Los Angeles home. An autopsy later determined that he had died from “acute effects of ketamine,” revealing a private struggle with relapse in his final days.

Five people have since been charged in connection with Matthew’s death, including two doctors and his live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death.

A Peacock documentary that premiered earlier this year, Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy, explores the actor’s rise to fame, his personal struggles, and the investigation into his untimely death. Tinseltown insiders provide fresh insights, including a stark warning from one interviewee: “They really preyed on somebody vulnerable. He was doing so well. Everyone thought he was clean and sober.”

Recently, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California announced that Jasveen Sangha, 42, dubbed the “Ketamine Queen,” has agreed to plead guilty to five federal charges tied to Matthew’s death. She has been in federal custody for a year and will formally enter her guilty plea in the coming weeks, avoiding a September trial. Sangha faces up to 65 years in prison, with sentencing expected in the coming months.

Earlier this year, another doctor also agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine to Matthew.
