Summer House's Kyle Cooke Claps Back at Podcaster Over Messy Home Criticism as Amanda Batula Talks Dating, Healing, and New Spinoff

Kyle Cooke has responded to a podcaster’s criticism after being called out for not tidying up his own home. This week’s episode of Summer House featured Kyle venting to West Wilson about the disorder in the house he shares with Amanda Batula. He even confessed to pleading with Amanda’s mother for help.

While Amanda, 34, discussed the nuances of dating, recovering from their breakup, and their upcoming spinoff alongside Lindsay Hubbard, 39, Kyle addressed Ashley Hamilton from the podcast Good Noticings with Claire & Ashley. Ashley questioned why he didn’t simply clean the house himself.

“As I watch the latest Summer House episode, I’m left wondering: If Amanda won’t clean Kyle’s house, and her mom won’t either, who will? Is there anyone else residing in Kyle’s house who could take on the cleaning?” she pondered, mockingly referring to Kyle as a “poor guy.”

After the clip circulated, Kyle decided to respond in the comments section.

“Maybe just maybe it’s all of Amanda’s stuff and that I would normally have a cleaning lady come if only the cleaning lady could enter and clean? The internet is insanely judgmental for being completely clueless and lacking actual context and facts. The hate is f*cking absurd quite frankly,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, as she promoted her new campaign with Lovesac, Amanda confirmed she was not yet dating.

“I just made my announcement two, three weeks ago. I am not dating anyone. I’m dating myself. I’m dating this couch,” Amanda told StyleCaster on February 12. “Me and this couch have a date for Valentine’s Day, and if you’re looking for me, I’ll be right here. I’ll be flying on Valentine’s Day, so I don’t even need to worry about it. I’m a working woman. I’m literally dating my job.”

Although Kyle and Amanda have been able to stay friends, Amanda admitted, “There’s definitely a lot of healing still to be done.”

“At the end of the day, Kyle and I have just remained really good friends through it all, and that’s been the most important part for me. That was something we were both very adamant about. That’s why 2026 is the year of healing,” she explained.

After moving into her own apartment last year, Amanda, who wanted to “[start] fresh” and took no furniture from her former home, continued to make frequent visits to Kyle’s.

“I’m there quite often. Not all the time, but I stopped by on his Lovesac couch. He’s got recliners and everything. I’m very envious of his very large couch,” she shared.

Continuing on, Amanda gave a nod to In the City.

In the City is based off of my, Kyle and Lindsay’s friends. Our actual true friends. It’s really about that next phase and that next chapter in life, and following us into adulthood, and people in different places in their relationships,” she teased. “There’s a lot of familiar faces, and there’s a lot of new faces too. I think people are going to be really excited to watch us hang out in the city versus being out in the Hamptons and in the pool all the time.”

“There’s obviously no surveillance. They did not put cameras in our homes, thankfully. But you’re diving deeper into these relationships, where Summer House was more about hookups and flings and partying. There’s going to be an older group of viewers who are going to relate a lot to what they’re watching on the new one,” she added.

Summer House season 10 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
