Earlier in the month, the couple’s breakup was officially announced amid swirling rumors of them living apart. Prior to making their split public, Amanda seemed to downplay these rumors, hinting that fans of “Summer House” shouldn’t read too much into the speculation.
In a candid discussion on Carl Radke’s “More Life” podcast, recorded before the breakup news, Kyle reflected on how he and Amanda would watch “Summer House” together during their marriage. “For the first six or seven years, Amanda and I would always watch the show together,” Kyle shared with Page Six. He described how this often led to revisiting old arguments, as they would find themselves reliving the same disputes they had just viewed on screen. “It was almost like we’d pick up right where we left off,” he explained, acknowledging how challenging it could be to navigate those discussions.
Speaking on Carl’s “More Life” podcast, in an episode recorded before the split announcement, Kyle addressed how he and Amanda would watch the show during their marriage.
“The first six or seven years … Amanda and I would always watch together,” said Kyle, via Page Six. “Sometimes that led to us literally having the same exact fight we just watched … It was almost like we’d pick up right where we left off. Like, ‘Here’s why I felt that way.’ ‘Well, here’s why I felt that way.’ It can be challenging.”
Amanda put an end to their watch parties “once [they’d] kind of gone through … tough seasons to watch.” Kyle said this happened around the sixth or seventh season.
“Amanda was like, ‘I’d rather not watch with you,’” said Kyle, who claimed that he still enjoys watching the “tough episodes” without Amanda. “I love seeing for the first time things I wasn’t apart of, even when people are literally talking s–t about me,” he added.
Carl agreed, “[It’s] really hard in a relationship to watch back. … When Lindsay and I were together, I could hear her watching in another room and was waiting for her to come over and talk about what she just watched.”
At the beginning of Carl’s podcast episode, he explained that they recorded on January 3, weeks before the couple confirmed their breakup.
“I want to send love, support and positive vibes their way,” said Carl.
On January 19, a source suggested that Amanda and Kyle may have been separated for a while before the announcement.
“In regards to the Amanda and Kyle situation, she wasn’t at the annual family reunion, his DJ show close to his cousin’s surf shop, or his cousin’s wedding this year,” said the source, in a submission to Deuxmoi from December of 2025. “Kyle’s close cousin got married a month ago and she wasn’t even with him at that. I don’t think she’s been at any family gatherings since summer 2024. Makes me curious if they just put on an act for the summer 2025 filming of Summer House.”
Deuxmoi then wrote in a caption, “Today, Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke officially announce their separation, but signs suggest their split has been unfolding since 2024, revealing a deeper story behind the scenes.”
