A source claimed Kyle Richards was “100% done” with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after a “draining” season. But the insider also shared why Kyle seemingly changed her tune.

Throughout season 14, Kyle fought with her friend Dorit Kemsley. Recently, Dorit called out Kyle – who’s separated from her husband Mauricio Umansky – for texting Dorit’s estranged husband PK Kemsley. Kyle maintained, however, that they were only sending each other memes.

According to a source speaking to The U.S. Sun, Kyle “want[ed] out” of the show because of the current season’s emotional turmoil, but she changed her mind after new developments.

“After filming this past season, she told friends she was ‘100 % done’ and there was no way she would go back,” said the insider. “Now that she’s cooled off from the drama and stress of filming this past season and her anxiety has calmed down and she’s had time to reflect on everything, she is open to returning.”

“A big reason she wants to come back is because she doesn’t want her legacy to end on a sour note. She doesn’t want to go out the way LVP did,” the source continued. “Kyle knows she started this franchise and has been the big constant and I don’t think she’s expecting a parade or grand sendoff, but it would be nice for her last season to not be one so emotionally tumultuous.”

“Another factor she is considering, which isn’t as important but she has brought it up, is that her returning would make her the longest-running Housewife on Bravo ever. 15 straight seasons – that’s a big shoe no one else will probably be able to fill,” the insider added. “While that’s not as forefront in her mind, she thinks it would be a nice thing to add to her resume.”

As of now, Kyle is tied with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice for 14 seasons. Kandi, however, left in 2023, and Teresa may not return to RHONY next season amid reports of a cast shakeup.

According to the source, if Kyle decides not to come back, a big reason was the “draining” aspect of season 14.

“She didn’t want to come back after filming because she was drained. She said she had nothing left in the tank emotionally, mentally, and physically. But after reflecting she does have a new perspective and as of now, she does want to come back,” said the insider.

“There is still one big caveat though – the reunion,” added the insider. “This is one of the reunions she’s looking forward to the least during her tenure on the show and if it goes terribly, she may change her mind and be done again … How she is treated by the ladies will be a big factor in her decision.”
