Lamar Odom claims drugs were ‘slipped into’ his drink before near-fatal overdose: ‘I couldn’t walk or talk’

Lamar Odom doubled down on his previous claims that he did not do drugs the night of his near-fatal overdose in 2015, saying that he believes drugs were “slipped into” his drink at the Nevada brothel before he woke up days later in the hospital.

“I don’t know what they were able to slip into my drink or what,” Odom claimed during an appearance on Sunday’s episode of “The Kyle and Jackie O Show.”

As the former Los Angeles Lakers player discussed the almost tragic incident, he told the hosts that he doesn’t recall much from that night.

“I don’t really remember because I was in a coma,” he said.

He did, however, remember putting a “certain amount” on his credit card in the hopes that the night would be a “secret.”

“I remember being upset that I didn’t have any cocaine to take to the brothel. I had just signed the divorce papers and I thought I was just gonna go all the way in,” he said, referencing his breakup from ex-wife Khloé Kardashian.

He then recalled “having a drink and then waking up three days later with it all over the news.”

Odom continued, “When I woke up, I couldn’t walk or talk. So it took, you know, it took some months of rehabilitation and a lot of prayers, a lot of determination.”

Now that he’s on the other side, Odom shared his new mission is “probably to help people who have the same problem, who couldn’t help themselves, be able to understand addiction and understand that it’s a brain disease.”

“It’s important for people to really understand and educate themselves,” Odom continued, adding that he’s used the opportunity to focus on his own growth.

“You have nothing to do after you beat your death,” he said.

Odom previously claimed he was not knowingly under the influence of drugs at the Nevada brothel where he was later found unconscious.

“I didn’t take anything that night,” he said on “Addiction Talk” in 2021. “I was really hurt and almost in some sense afraid because somebody just tried to take my life.”

Odom had alleged that Love Ranch brothel owner, Dennis Hof — or someone working for Hof — was responsible for his hospitalization. Hof died of a heart attack in 2019.
