Dorit Kemsley and Paul “PK” Kemsley sparked rumors of a potential reconciliation after stepping out for a recent one-on-one dinner date in Los Angeles, but what’s really going on?
Following the estranged couple’s public meeting, an insider is speaking out about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars and where they stand over a year after announcing their separation, and months after Dorit’s divorce filing.
Dorit, 49, and PK, 57, are “connected in a really positive way” through their “commitment to raising their kids,” an insider revealed to PEOPLE.
As RHOBH fans well know, Dorit and PK share two children, son Jagger, 11, and daughter Phoenix, 9. And when Dorit filed for divorce in April after a decade of marriage, she requested full custody of both. Meanwhile, as she also requested spousal support, PK requested that she be blocked from collecting, as he asked for joint custody of the kids.
While things appeared to be contentious in the moments that followed Dorit’s divorce filing, especially as PK was seen with other women, they are reportedly on good terms today as they prioritize a healthy relationship with one another.
“Dorit and PK are still working through the legal side of their separation, but there’s a lot of genuine affection there,” the source explained. “They have a deep history and a shared commitment to raising their kids, and that keeps them connected in a really positive way.”
“Their recent dinner together wasn’t filmed for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — it was completely off-camera, just the two of them catching up,” the insider continued. “PK hasn’t filmed with Dorit at all this season.”
Although PK was photographed making out with model Shana Wall, 51, earlier this year, the source confirmed that neither he nor Dorit was “in a serious relationship right now.”
PK’s “brief moment with Shana Wall earlier this year was just lighthearted and not the start of anything romantic,” the insider shared.
In their joint statement last May, Dorit and PK admitted to years of “struggles” as they shared the news of their separation on Instagram.
“We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together,” they wrote. “We have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 is currently in production and expected to begin airing on Bravo later this year or early next year.
