Vanderpump Rules Alum Laura-Leigh Reveals She Was Paid $500 for Season 1, Claims Ex Jax Taylor “Unlocked” Bathroom Door for Crew During Hookup as She Shares Shocking Details

Vanderpump Rules’ original castmate Laura-Leigh revealed her season 1 salary, and claimed her ex Jax Taylor unlocked the bathroom door “while I wasn’t looking” during their much-discussed hookup.

The hookup became one of the biggest storylines of the show in season 1. At the time, she denied that it happened – though a castmate claimed they were caught in the act. Jax later broke up with Laura-Leigh on camera, though she went on to fulfill her dream as an actor, starring in We’re The Millers with Jennifer Aniston.

“They had shot so much [that season], they couldn’t release the show without my signature,” said Laura-Leigh on the Vanderpump Rules Party podcast, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “And I honestly thought — again, [I was] naive — this will never see the light of day.”

Laura-Leigh said she “signed it” because she was “depleted financially” as she pursued her dream of being an actress.

“Five hundred dollars [total],” said the star of her season 1 salary, “to pay the rest of my rent that month. And that’s what I made off the show. No residuals, nothing. And I had to like go after them to get that five hundred.”

The rest of the cast, she said, earned about $8,000 for the first season.

“And the only reason I know that is cause it’s all the money Jax had to his name,” said Laura-Leigh, who said she herself had to “fight” to get any money at all – and drive “two hours” outside of The Valley for the check.

She then addressed her bathroom hookup with Jax, which became a major storyline.

“I did not know [Jax] had unlocked the door … while I wasn’t looking,” she said. “The camera crew [later opened it] … Obviously they couldn’t show that on the show.”

The podcast host then expressed, “But they had confirmation so they could talk about it … And that’s who told Lisa [Vanderpump] and became a storyline.”

“Correct,” said Laura-Leigh. “And then I just lied [about it, like] … this just never happened.”

Last year, Bravo announced that the entire cast of Vanderpump Rules will be replaced with new stars.
