Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks are engaged!

The Isn’t It Romantic actor, 35, and the model, 29 — who first sparked romance rumors in December 2019 — made their engagement official on Friday, September 12, after Brooks posted a series of sweet Instagram photos of the couple, showing off her stunning engagement ring.

Brooks posted a black-and-white shot of the couple as she flashed her ring, and also shared a closeup of the diamond sparkler in another slide.

The couple have kept their relationship as private as possible while teasing glimpses of their romance via social media — often with Hemsworth’s family, whom Brooks called “the most beautiful people” in a December 2021 interview with Stellar magazine.

“My personal relationship is very, very important and very sacred to me,” she noted at the time. “And I feel like in an industry where so much is put out on show, there are some things you just want to keep to yourself. I completely understand [the interest in our relationship]. But at the end of the day, I guess I just like having that for me.”

The couple’s exciting news comes four years after a source told Us Weekly in May 2021 that an engagement was on the horizon.

“Liam and Gabriella have been getting serious. They’re not ones to make it known to the public, but their friends and family sure are in the know about how close they are and how an engagement can be right around the corner,” the insider revealed to Us at the time, adding, “Liam looks up to his brothers [Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth] and would love to one day also have that long-lasting marriage with a partner. He’s ready to be a husband — he just wants to be super confident in his relationship with Gabriella before he gets down on one knee!”

The Australia native was previously married to Miley Cyrus for eight months, from December 2018 until August 2019. The former couple — who dated on and off since meeting on the set of 2010’s The Last Song — finalized their divorce in January 2020.

Liam’s relationship with Brooks is decidedly different than his romance with Cyrus, 29, a second source told Us in March 2020.

“He feels more at home with Gabriella than he did with Miley and feels like he can be his complete self without any drama,” the insider said at the time. “Gabriella helped Liam boost his confidence and played an encouraging role in his life after his split with Miley. They are very happy together and it’s comfortable and easy.”

The newly-engaged stars “connect over important topics and share the same values about family and life,” a third source told Us in September 2020.
