Gypsy Rose Blanchard‘s reality gets a lot more complicated in season 2 of Lifetime’s Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up. In Touch takes a closer look at what’s in store for the former convict as she navigates divorce, a new romance and becoming a first-time mother.

What Is ‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up’ Season 2 About?

While season 1 featured Gypsy getting out of prison and navigating life as a free yet married woman, season 2 shows the star “navigating a pending divorce, a rekindled relationship, a surprise pregnancy and her journey into motherhood,” according to Lifetime’s show synopsis.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Deals With Paternity Drama in Season 2 of ‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up’

Gypsy and Ryan Scott Anderson married in July 2022, when she was still in prison for killing her allegedly abusive mom, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. After she got out, their marriage broke down after former fiancé-turned-current boyfriend Ken Urker expressed an interest in getting back together, which was shown in season 1.

The pair rekindled their romance and Gypsy filed for divorce from Ryan on April 8, 2024. However, she was newly pregnant at the time with a baby she now shares with Ken. The duo welcomed a daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, on December 28, 2024.

In the first trailer that dropped on January 6, 2025, Gypsy discussed how she’s pregnant with Ken’s baby while still married to Ryan … which has legal ramifications.

“So, in the state of Louisiana, the law states that if a child is conceived within a marriage, the husband is the presumed father of that child,” Gypsy explained in a voice over as video of Ryan walking his dog was shown.

“I wish that she had gotten through the divorce process when this happened,” Ken revealed about Gypsy’s pregnancy as the pair sat on a bed.

The Golden Meadow, Louisiana, native ended up taking a paternity test, explaining, “The test is more for the public and more for Ryan to say, ‘Hey dude, you’re not the father. Accept it and move on.’”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Faces ‘A Lot of Curve Calls’ in Season 2 of Her Reality Show

In addition to her divorce and baby drama, Gypsy and Ken were unable to live together since she was still on parole. Trouble brewed when she discovered the “hair brush of an ex-girlfriend” while cleaning out his bathroom cabinet, in a second trailer that was released on February 14, 2025.

Ken admitted their romance had been hit with “a lot of curve balls,” while Gypsy revealed that she’d received death threats.

“People don’t feel like I’m going to be a good mother because of what my mom put me through,” she told the camera before a scene of Gypsy and Ken appears, showing them in the hospital kissing their newborn. “Let me prove you wrong,” she declared.

Who Appears in ‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up Season 2’?

Ken plays a much more significant role in season 2, since he’s Gypsy’s new boyfriend. Ryan appears, but is a much less visible presence than in season 1.

Why Did Gypsy Rose Blanchard Go to Prison?

In July 2016, Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder following the June 2015 death of her mother.

Gypsy conspired with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn, to kill Dee Dee. Nick was the one who carried out the murder, stabbing Dee Dee to death while Gypsy hid in the bathroom. The former couple met online and felt that they had to kill her mother in order to pursue their relationship and allow Gypsy to escape her mother.

The teen had been the victim of Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome. Dee Dee convinced people – including Gypsy herself – that her daughter was terminally ill and suffering from leukemia, muscular dystrophy and asthma. She also claimed that Gypsy was born premature and therefore had the mind of a 7-year-old child when she was a teenager.

Gypsy was sentenced to 10 years in prison but was granted an early parole and released on December 28, 2023. Nick remains behind bars serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

When Does ‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up Season 2’ Premiere?

Gypsy Rose Life After Lock Up season 2 premieres on March 10, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.
