Lindsey Graham's 'Siri Faux Pas' Isn't His First Shady Phone Scandal

Senator Lindsey Graham found himself in an awkward situation when he attempted to use Siri to call Fox News host Sean Hannity while inside the Capitol building in November 2025. This incident adds to his history of controversial phone moments. Back in 2021, amid the chaos of Trump supporters storming the Capitol, Graham was caught on record showing support for President Joe Biden, despite his close ties with Donald Trump. On that fateful day, Trump had encouraged the crowd, stating, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,” yet he distanced himself from the following unrest.

In an interview that wasn’t supposed to see the light of day, Graham was heard expressing optimism about Biden’s presidency and criticizing Trump’s role in the insurrection. “Yeah, totally, he’ll be maybe the best person to have, right?” Graham commented on Biden. Regarding Trump, he noted, “He’s misjudged the passion. He plays the TV game, and he went too far here.” At that moment, Graham seemed to be at odds with Trump, though his stance has since shifted.

Graham’s critique of Trump following the Capitol riots was significant. “Trump and I, we’ve had a hell of a journey,” he reflected. “I hate it to end this way. Oh, my God, I hate it.” Despite this, he acknowledged Trump’s impact as a president, stating, “From my point of view, he’s been a consequential president.” Yet, he also declared, “count me out. Enough is enough.” This duality highlighted the complexity of Graham’s relationship with Trump.

Yet, it appears Trump eventually forgave Graham, who has since emerged as a staunch supporter. He even publicly entertained the idea of Trump serving a third term, regardless of its constitutional impossibility. On Fox News in September 2025, Graham said, “Trump 2028. I hope this never ends,” as reported by The Hill. This wasn’t the first instance where Graham seemed to advocate for Trump’s extended leadership.

Lindsey Graham refused to support Donald Trump’s election fraud crusade

On X, previously known as Twitter, Graham referred to Trump as the 48th president, implying a future term. “Look forward to hearing from 48 — whoops 47 —about who will be this year’s Trump/Kennedy Center honorees,” he tweeted in August 2025. He further expressed his dedication to supporting Trump, stating, “I’m all-in trying to help President @realDonaldTrump structurally and aesthetically improve one of the greatest gems of American culture.”

However, Trump has probably long since forgiven Graham, who’s transformed into a fully devoted follower. He even publicly expressed his support for Trump to serve a third term as president, despite it being constitutionally unsound. “Trump 2028. I hope this never ends,” Graham said about the possibility while appearing on Fox News in September 2025 (via The Hill). Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that Graham seemed to cling to the idea that Trump can actually pull off a third term in office.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Graham dubbed Trump, the 47th president as the 48th, suggesting that he will serve again. “Look forward to hearing from 48 — whoops 47 —about who will be this year’s Trump/Kennedy Center honorees,” he tweeted in August 2025. “I can’t wait to find out who these great Americans are.” He continued, “I’m all-in trying to help President @realDonaldTrump structurally and aesthetically improve one of the greatest gems of American culture.”
