Little Rascals Star Launches GoFundMe Ahead of Sixth Child’s Birth: ‘I Really Need Some Help’

Brandon “Bug” Hall, known for playing Alfalfa in Little Rascals, is turning to fans for financial support as he and his wife get ready to welcome their sixth child.

Hall created a GoFundMe campaign Thursday, explaining that he had reached a point where he “really need[ed] some help.”

“It’s now six years since I self-cancelled, and I have avoided doing one of these in all that time,” Hall wrote in the fundraiser’s description. “I always said this was my choice, and so I didn’t want to offload the glorious burden of it unless there was no other choice. Well here we are.”

The former child actor said he had fallen behind on several household bills after relocating his family to a new home in rural Arkansas.

According to Hall, the family needs assistance covering the final expenses and preparations before the birth of their sixth child.

“Times are hard for everyone, and I’m no more deserving than anyone else, but I ask in your charity that you help where you can, whether monetarily, by sharing this, or by prayer and sacrifice for the Hall-Barnetts of the Holy Cross,” he wrote.

The fundraiser has brought in $10,130 so far, exceeding Hall’s initial $2,000 target.

The appeal comes only months after Hall was arrested in Ohio in April and charged with failing to appear in court over a traffic citation issued in October 2024.

He was also arrested in Texas in 2020 after authorities said he had been huffing air duster cans.

Hall rose to fame as Alfalfa Switzer in the 1994 Steven Spielberg comedy. In a previous interview with the Daily Mail, he said he had taken a “vow of poverty” and was living off the grid as “a radical Catholic extremist.”

Hall said he had donated the money he earned as a child actor to charity, along with many of his possessions.

“My goal is to maintain a life as free of any need for an income as possible,” he told the outlet.

“If there’s a financial need that comes up, I’ll go take some work or do an odd job, for cash to fulfill that need,” he added.

Before moving to rural Arkansas, Hall and his family lived in Los Angeles and Texas.

The former actor also told the Daily Mail that he and his wife homeschool their children and plan to “strongly discourage them” from attending college.

He described traditional schooling as “nonsense” and has voiced the view that same-sex marriage is “contrary to natural law” and abortion is “plainly murder.”

Reflecting on his decision to leave Hollywood, Hall said he did not want “to go work some job that was basically meaningless, making widgets to entertain people or distract people.”
