Love Is Blind Contestants Were Allegedly Treated Poorly On Set, But Did Anyone Have A Good Time Filming The Hit Netflix Series_

Watching Netflix‘s popular reality show Love Is Blind is a lot of fun, but what is it like behind the scenes? Several former cast members alleged poor conditions like not being allowed to get enough sleep or eat enough food while filming the show.

According to Business Insider, season 2’s Danielle Ruhl shared that she fainted because she didn’t have enough food or water, and her now ex-husband Nick Thompson said “You thrust us into this situation without any support.” Jeremy Hartwell sued Delirium TV, Kinetic Content, and Netflix because of similar conditions, according to NBC News.

It’s definitely tough to read these accounts of filming Love Is Blind. Have other cast members echoed these statements? Did anyone have a great time while shooting the beloved reality show?

What Did Kelly Chase And Jessica Batten Say About Love Is Blind Season 1?

Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes are one of the Love Is Blind couples who split up. And although she didn’t find love, Kelly seems to have had a positive time on the reality show.

Kelly talked about Love Is Blind with Insider.com and said, “Though I didn’t get married, I had a great experience and made plenty of connections on the first season of Love Is Blind. Overall, I absolutely loved being on Love Is Blind and have no regrets. Appearing on the show opened up so many doors for me professionally and personally and I’m grateful I got a chance to participate in the experiment.”

While Kelly can look back on this time fondly, she did mention that she thinks that therapists should be available for Love Is Blind cast members. Nick and Danielle have also said the same thing. She also mentioned that it was tough to read negative comments from fans online, which is definitely something that has continued with every Love Is Blind season.

Jessica Batten faced criticism in season 1 of Love Is Blind for holding out her wine glass to her dog and for talking about how she was ten years older than Mark Cuevas, her fiance on the show. Jessica shared with Refinery 29 that she was happy to film the After the Altar special and show people that she is nicer than they originally thought.

Jessica said that fans of Love Is Blind have told her that they have also had hard times in their lives. And they appreciate that she showed a raw and imperfect side of herself.

It sounds like Jessica had a better time filming After the Altar than season 1 of Love Is Blind. She told Refinery 29, “But at the end of the day, being able to show that I’m also a human, kind person, and I’m not perfect and I fail, but I’m still standing. It’s something that I wanted to do for those people who have reached out and who have needed to see that.”

Jessica also shared that she enjoyed attending the anniversary gathering for the two season 1 couples who got married: Amber Pike and Matt Barnett along with Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed. Jessica said that she became close to Danielle Drouin while they were in the pods and that she liked seeing her co-stars again.

Jessica told Refinery 29, “I actually had a lot of fun. A lot of the pod squad that didn’t get shown on the series are some of my very good friends now, so I was just so happy to have that support system back.”

How Does Amber Pike Feel About Love Is Blind Now?

It’s easy to assume that if couples got married on Love Is Blind and are still together, then they had fun while filming the show and feel good about their experience. That may be true of several couples. Tiffany Pennywell and Brett Brown found love on Love Is Blind season 4 and haven’t said anything negative about the show. Neither have Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah from season 3, or Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux from season 3.

Amber Pike doesn’t seem to have many kind words for Love Is Blind, however. She and Matt Barnett clicked from the start. They laughed in the pods, kept having a good time once they went on vacation in Mexico, and both said “I do.” They are still married.

But even though fans would expect Amber to say that she loved starring on Love Is Blind because that is how she met her husband, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Amber shared her thoughts about Love Is Blind on Instagram, although she didn’t go into too many details.

According to E! News, a fan inquired about a season 4 couple that Amber liked the most. Amber said “we don’t watch LIB” and continued, “we are together IN SPITE of that show not because of it.” When a fan asked about any conflict with the creator, Amber said, “I told them to stay away from us.”

It’s unclear what exactly happened to make Amber’s experience so bad. But the fact that she and Matt don’t tune in anymore suggests that they feel very negatively about it.

Love Is Blind Cast Members Became Friends In Seasons 2 And 4

Although several former Love Is Blind cast members have alleged terrible times on set, it does seem like something positive came from filming. And that is the connection that several contestants formed.

In season 2, Iyanna McNeely became close friends with Natalie Lee and Deepti Vempati. Natalie and Deepti now co-host a podcast called Out of the Pods where they recap and chat about Love Is Blind episodes.

According to E! News, Iyanna, Natalie, Deepti and Danielle all spent time together in Las Vegas in February 2022. It’s nice to know that this connection has lasted even when they are no longer starring on the show together.

Love Is Blind fans noticed that season 4 cast members Marshall Glaze and Brett Brown became good friends as well. They were always sweet and supportive of each other.

Marshall and Jackie Bonds broke up early on and didn’t make it to the altar, and she began dating her co-star Josh Demas. Still, Marshall came back to the show to visit Brett on his wedding day to Tiffany.

Marshall shared some good and logical advice. And it was clear that he was genuinely happy for the friend he made on the show.

While it doesn’t sound like it has always been amazing filming Love Is Blind, it sounds like some cast members do have some good memories to look back on.
