We’re now two weeks out from the Love Is Blind Season 8 weddings, and things are far from settled for some. While some couples are all smooth sailing, other cast members of the reality TV show are dealing with ghosts from the past.

Will they be able to set aside the drama of exes and former pod connections to move forward? Will the cast’s family and friends ever come around to accepting the unconventional experiment?

David Deals With His Hesitation

We pick up with Lauren, still crying over the fact that David chose to spend the night away, sleeping at a friend’s instead. She tells the cameras that he’s apparently turned off his phone and hasn’t reached out at all. That said, she still wants to fix things and marry him. “I feel like we can get there,” she says.

When he finally gets back, he claims he went out for drinks with friends and then ran into some “pod people.” Lauren wonders if he met up with an old pod connection, but he says he didn’t. Though he’s still hesitant to meet Lauren’s parents, she gives him even more reassurance:

I see this ending with you regardless. I think the easy answer would be [that] we just wanna be together.

“That’s exactly how I’m feeling,” he agrees.

Monica’s sister Nicolle takes engagement photos of her and Joey. Monica points out she was “quick to judge” Joey, and her sister agrees, apologizing to them and saying she’s since come around. Monica promises she’s not “blindly” going into her wedding, and Nicolle tells the cameras she can tell they’re really in love.

More Meeting The Parents

Meanwhile, Ben and Sara talk about the TikTok made by a woman from his past. They agree that because it was a while back, it shouldn’t be an issue. Sara points out she feels “protective” of Ben and their relationship, and in the end they decide to move past it. Devin meets Virginia’s mom, who asks them both about their definitions of commitment. Devin says he’s not concerned that Virginia is a child of divorce, as he knows they’ll both “put God first” in their relationship.

Later, David meets Lauren’s mom, who’s also married to a man named Dave. She offers him some advice on his sister’s and friends’ protectiveness and hesitance about Lauren and the experiment:

At some point, you know, they have to realize it’s not about them.

She says she trusts her daughter’s heart and hopes that he won’t overthink the situation.

In bed that night, Devin and Virginia talk about what would happen if they had differing opinions on things like having kids or political issues. They seem to believe they’ll be able to healthily talk through any disagreements. Later, Ben meets some of Sara’s friends, who tells them he feels surprisingly at ease during the experiment. They joke that they “U-hauled” like a gay couple given the short timeline.

Sara assures her friends that she likes that Ben goes to church while she doesn’t. He tells them that he’s “fiscally conservative but socially liberal,” but that he and Sara don’t think it will be an issue in their relationship. Sara tells her friends she doesn’t want to “convince them” of her relationship, because she’s so confident in him and how he makes her feel. Despite her words, her friends still seem a bit skeptical of their match.

At the end of the episode, David and Lauren go bowling, discussing his sister’s hesitation again. Lauren once again reassures him that their relationship will be better once she gets to talk with his family, but David reveals that his sister doesn’t want to meet her. “If you don’t see it with me, then I want to know,” Lauren tells David, pushing him to be honest.
