Love is blossoming in the pods of Love Is Blind. In Episode 3, the reality TV cast members have to sort out their feelings between their top matches, putting the love triangles to rest once and for all.
Many people are haunted by dating mistakes from their past. Will they fall into old patterns, going for someone familiar who might not be good for them, or will they learn to find a new type who will truly support them?
Joey And Monica Are Much More Than Friends
We open the episode with Joey and Monica’s in-person reveal. They giggle as they walk towards each other, and Monica tells Joey she didn’t expect him to have long hair. “It’s so beautiful!” she exclaims, noting that he looks like Tarzan. She tells the cameras that she’s extremely happy with his looks. “Chef’s kiss!” she laughs. Joey has a similar reaction to the cameras:
Best first kiss I’ve honestly ever had… I’m honestly mind-blown right now.
Meanwhile, Madison stresses about her feelings for Alex, as he previously told her that she reminded him of women he dated in the past, and that that may not be a good thing. On their date, she shares her prized stuffed animal with him and says that she hopes he doesn’t have hesitations about her after she admitted she’s had an avoidant relationship style in the past.
That said, she’s also still exploring her connection with Mason, which tends to be fun and goofier than her dynamic with Alex. Meg is still stressed out that she might not be Mason’s first choice, though she understands that they’re all still trying to make sense of their feelings. Mason says he loves how “energetic and passionate” she is, and then they go back to discussing conspiracy theories as they often do on their dates.
David Divulges His True Feelings
Next, we pick up with Lauren and David, who have a conversation about children. Lauren says that because she’s 30, it’s something she’s ready to start thinking about sooner than later. Talking about a potential future together makes David open up in a way like never before:
I’m just like a completely different person [with you]. In such a good way, I mean, you’re definitely a part of it. I feel like I’m becoming the person I was always meant to be. I don’t act like this in the real world because I’m afraid to show it or something.
That said, his connection with Molly reminds him of the kind of woman he’d usually go for.
Another person torn between two people is Devin, who’s falling for both Virginia and Brittany. He tells the cameras that he feels like Virginia is holding something back from him, whereas things with Brittany are fun and upbeat. Meanwhile, Madison tells Alex that her past family trauma has made her shut down and become robotic, but instead of being put off, he asks how he’d be able to help her in that kind of situation. He assures her he’d never be “scared” of any issues she might have.
At the end of the episode, it seems like the love triangles aren’t going to be laid to rest just yet. Madison tells Mason that she’s aware of how strong Meg’s feelings for him are. Meg tells the other women, “I’m in trouble,” knowing she’ll either end the experiment engaged or completely heartbroken.
Mason’s also sweating about making his final decision, as his breakups in the past have been a result of being dumped by a woman who was in love with someone else. His worst fears might be coming true when Madison tells him that her connection with Alex gives her “more confirmation.” He tries to be understanding, saying he knows it’s time to step it up. “That’s the name of the game,” he tells her.
