The Love Is Blind couples of Season 8 have officially moved to the next phase of the experiment. They’ve been living together in their shared apartments, getting to know one another more deeply than ever before.

For the first time, the newly engaged couples of the reality TV show will introduce one another to their families. While some families are readily accepting, others have their reservations, questioning if love can really blossom in such a short span of time.

Taylor Dives Into Daniel’s Family

The first family meeting we see is between Daniel and Taylor, going back to Daniel’s family home to meet his siblings and parents. Daniel explains that their dating process in the pods was “very intentional,” and Taylor agrees that she feels the two of them have left “no stone unturned” when it comes to getting to know each other.

Daniel’s mother explains she was excited for him to do the experiment because she feels like he “doesn’t let a lot of people in” when it comes to his heart. Taylor notes that her family has been slower to warm to the idea of Taylor getting engaged through the experiment, but Daniel’s mom readily accepts her, noting how happy her son is:

I’ve never seen him like this. Just caring that much about another girl… Just to have somebody that he allows in is really, really special.

Daniel’s father adds that they accept their union “without reservation.”

Meanwhile, Lauren brings David to a spin class, which he struggles to keep up with. He chats with her friends afterward, who explain that Lauren’s ex never spent time with them and that he was generally fake. She grows emotional, hoping David will be able to understand and accept her complicated romantic history.

Virginia heads to meet Devin’s family, telling them that she appreciated his vulnerability right from the start. They ask her about having kids, pointing to her age, and she shares that she’d previously frozen her eggs. She handles their other hard-hitting questions about sticking with Devin even when he gets sick or potentially caring for his parents if they one day needed to move in. “Experiment successful,” his mother jokes after she seemingly passes their test.

Next, Sara meets Ben’s friends, saying she was attracted to his “zest for life.” They discuss how she’s come to appreciate his faith even though she herself isn’t religious, further proving that they’re a great fit for one another. Meanwhile, Monica reassures Joey that her sister, who was skeptical about their relationship, has always been tough to win over.

Taylor’s Parents Are Tough To Crack

Later, Daniel gets to meet Taylor’s parents, reassuring them that he’s taking their relationship extremely seriously. Despite his earnest words, Taylor’s mom says she feels “left out” because she didn’t find out her daughter was engaged until after it had already happened. Daniel shares some words from the letter he wrote Taylor in the pods:

I felt like I wanted to make her happy and feel safe for the rest of my life. That’s what I want to do.

At the end of the conversation, Daniel’s own parents join them so that everyone can meet together, and soon there’s talk of grandchildren in the future. In the end, it seems like everyone gets along well enough, looking forward to a future combining the two families.

There’s drama before David’s friends come over to meet Lauren, as David’s still hung up on the timeline that Lauren may have been casually seeing a mutual acquaintance shortly before she went on the show. She’s frustrated that she keeps needing to defend and explain herself. “This is not someone I dated,” she emphasizes. “I cannot get over that this is where we’re at… I feel like I lost you this week,” she adds.

At the end of the episode, Sara confronts Ben about a TikTok of a woman crying and referencing him. Ben says they met on Tinder but that they never hooked up, so what she’s saying in the video isn’t true and an exaggeration. He claims he doesn’t remember much about their connection, but Sara insists that there’s more he’s not telling her.
