We’ve finally arrived at the long-awaited reunion for Love Is Blind UK Season 2, and the results may not be what viewers are expecting. As the reality TV cast members gathered almost a year after filming, the audience had the chance to get a relationship update on all of the couples—and some of the news was not at all what fans were expecting.
One of the most inspiring couples this season was Sarover and Kal, who came from an Indian and Pakistani background, respectively. Throughout the season, the pair talked at length about their cultures and overcoming a divide in order to be together, giving fans hope for their future. They each said “yes” at the altar in the final episode, and it seemed like things were smooth sailing—or were they actually?
Sarover Revealed That She And Kal Broke Up
Kal and Sarover were the first couple to give their update at the reunion. Though they were sitting on the same couch next to each other, it was pretty immediately obvious that their body language was off. When the hosts asked Sarover for a status check on their marriage, she shocked everyone in the audience with her response:
Sarover went on to explain that, unfortunately, Kal had sat her down after just three months of marriage and “coldly” informed her that he wanted to split. She said that it felt like a one-sided decision that blindsided her, as she had often asked him if anything was wrong, and her partner had said no.
Growing emotional, Sarover said she still felt like she didn’t understand what had happened, and that she worried she would never get closure for their relationship. Kal swore he really was “100% in love” with her during the experiment, but this seemed only to confuse his former partner even more. She told Kal that she wished he would’ve said no to her at the altar if he’d had these doubts instead of moving forward and changing his mind just a few months later.
Kal Had Little Else To Say
Perhaps most surprising about the whole scene is that Kal still couldn’t provide much of a reason for ending the relationship. When both Sarover and her mother, Bali, pressed Kal for an answer, the best that he could say was that, even after the experiment, he still didn’t think he was ready for a committed relationship:
I just don’t think I’m compatible in a long-term relationship, and it took me to meet on paper the perfect woman to realize that.
Those who followed the full season of the show may have seen the writing on the wall. His brother, Junaid, previously told the cameras that, although Sarover was a “brilliant” woman, he knew Kal well, and that he had never been to settle into cohabitating with a partner before. Ahead of their wedding, Junaid predicted that the relationship wouldn’t last, and it seems that he was correct.
Of course, Kal isn’t the only one whose relationship didn’t work out on the show. The reunion also revealed that another couple, Billy and Ashleigh, had split after saying “I do” at the altar. Though Ashleigh previously convinced Billy that her job as cabin crew wouldn’t interfere with their relationship, it seems that it still caused Billy to pull away and grow “icy,” eventually driving a wedge between them.
