Not all love that starts in the pods of Love Is Blind is meant to last, it seems. Though each season of the reality TV show has couples who proclaim that love really is blind, others end up calling it quits.
The latest breakup from the Love Is Blind universe is between Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis. The couple got together on Season 7 and had what many would call a rocky relationship right from the start.
Ashley Announced Her Split From Tyler
Ashley and Tyler chose to get engaged and get married on the most recent season of the series, which aired fairly recently, in October 2024. This means that fans only got to know them as a married couple for just a few months before Ashley announced their separation.
In order to speak about her divorce, Ashley released an official statement to People. In it, she explained that the decision was a difficult and drawn-out one:
After much reflection, I want to share that Tyler and I have been separated for several weeks and have now made the difficult decision to end our marriage. While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage.
Perhaps getting ahead of the fact that fans were going to be ablaze with theories about what went wrong in the pair’s relationship, Ashley went on to ask for privacy in her statement. She highlighted that she had no ill will towards her ex:
This was not a decision I made lightly, but one I know is necessary for my own growth and peace. While this chapter is ending, I will always hold respect for the time and love we shared. I kindly ask for privacy during this deeply personal time as I focus on healing and building a new future. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Though Ashley alluded to the fact that she and Tyler were “no longer aligned” about what they wanted out of a relationship, at this point in time she hasn’t cited a specific reason for their split.
Tyler Faced Backlash For Lying About His Kids
Viewers who followed Season 7 will remember that much of the couple’s drama stemmed from the fact that Tyler seemingly lied about having kids. It wasn’t until they were already engaged and living together that he revealed he was actually the biological father of three kids.
To make matters worse, Tyler continued to be shady about the details. While at first he claimed the kids had no idea what he looked like and that he wasn’t a part of their lives, fans of the show soon discovered photos of Tyler with the children on social media. The mother of the kids even spoke out about Tyler’s involvement in their lives, making the situation even messier.
While at the reunion for the show, Ashley appeared to try to do some damage control. She explained that Tyler hadn’t wanted to talk about the kids on camera, but that she’d encouraged them to have a filmed conversation about the topic, claiming that she wasn’t actually as caught off-guard as the episode’s edit made her seem.
At the time, Ashley was quite vocal that she trusted Tyler and that she planned to stand by her partner. It was interesting, indeed, to see her appear to be the one fighting more for their relationship than Tyler appeared to be. Certainly it makes it all the more fascinating now that she’s been the first one to officially announce their split. Only time will tell if more details about the breakup will be revealed.
