Love Island USA Season 7 kept viewers glued to their screen with dramatic recouplings, America’s vote, and steamy makeout challenges. However, the season wasn’t without controversy, with contestant Huda Mustafa finding herself at the center of several of them.
Huda entered the season as an original cast member, but her journey to finding love was anything but smooth. Despite the ups and downs, she made it to the finale alongside bombshell Chris Seeley, whom she coupled up with after meeting on the reality TV show’s Casa Amor twist. In a surprising move, Huda decided to end her relationship with Chris during the finale date, making history as the first couple on Love Island USA to break up in the finale.
Huda Mustafa And Chris Seeley End Their Relationship Ahead Of The Love Island USA Season 7 Finale Results
Love Island USA Season 7 has come to an end, but not without a dramatic conclusion to match a season filled with controversy, both inside the villa and beyond.
One of the standout contestants this season was Huda Mustafa, who made it to the finale thanks to what appeared to be a somewhat strong connection with Casa Amor bombshell Chris Seeley. However, as their romance unfolded, tension simmered beneath the surface, culminating in a dramatic breakup during the season finale, which aired on July 13.
Each of the four remaining couples went on different dates with Huda and Chris having a very romantic candlelit dinner that was literally floating on water. However, the couple went into the date with tension after Chris refused to cuddle Huda the previous night. In a confessional, Chris shared, “There’s a lot of things on my mind that I want to bring up to Huda.”
As they sat down at the table, the two spoke about PDA and the other night, with Chris stating that he wanted to sleep, but Huda explained that she felt rejected by him. Chris shared that he was not happy that Huda counted down to get his attention while in bed, stating that he doesn’t like being treated like a child, but that only opened up a difficult discussion about their future together.
“You doing that makes me feel like a little kid,” he said. “And I’m not. I’m a grown a** man.” As Huda rolled her eyes at Chris, he grew even more frustrated with her. “This is why I pick my battles, because of reactions like this,” he said. “There’s that same repeating issue. I don’t appreciate that.”
Huda then told him, “Moving forward in the outside world, there’s no more time in here to figure this out. We’re not exclusive, we’re still getting to know each other and a lot of the things that we do need are the physical aspects. I’m not sure how we would work on that with long distance.”
“I like you, and I want to continue to explore you and get to know you,” she continued. “But at the same time, I’m scared that I’m gonna do that and I’m gonna be disappointed,” she added.
After a singer interrupted their conversation, Chris told Huda to be honest and upfront, “It seems like you’re scared to tell me where your head is at,” he said. “I know where you’re leaning towards, and if that’s what it is, just tell me.”
“I think we should just be friends,” Huda said. Chris replied,”OK, Cool. No hard feelings. S***, I already knew. I could tell. So I have just been waiting for you to say it.” But he did add that he could not be friends with her at that moment seeing that he still had feelings for her. “But will I have any hatred toward you? No. But I need to not like you anymore, so that means I need to separate myself a little bit, I’m going to.”
What Happened In The Finale After Chris And Huda Broke Off Their Coupling?
Back at the villa, both Huda and Chris told the Islanders that they were no longer a couple. Huda shared that she was coming out of the villa with a “clear mind,” while Chris told the guys that he did not “give a f*** anymore.”
During the finale, each couple read letters to one another and how their connections grew overtime. However, fans wondered how this would work out for Chris and Huda. Instead, they reflected on how they learned from each other. Huda shared that Chris helped her to grow as a person, while Chris praised her despite the two breaking things off.

America voted for their favorite couple and Huda and Chris placed third despite no longer being together.
Huda and Chris first met at Casa Amor with the latter coming in as a bombshell. While they were not coupled up together, they would find each other once they got back into the villa. While their relationship started off strong, cracks soon began to show.
Chris repeatedly expressed frustration over being interrupted during conversations and was confused by Huda’s lack of PDA in public, especially since they were intimate in private. Tension also arose during a baby doll parenting challenge, where Huda appeared frustrated with how Chris handled the task—though that may have simply been her maternal instincts kicking in.
Who Won Love Island USA Season 7?
After struggling to find a genuine connection in the villa, Amaya Espinal finally found one toward the end—with Casa Amor bombshell Bryan Arenales. The couple won Season 7 of Love Island USA, having closed off their romance during their finale date.
Fans were rooting for Amaya to find her perfect match. She had brief connections with Ace Green, Austin Shepard, and Zak Srakaew, but none of them could match her energy. Fans loved it when Bryan defended Amaya during the “Stand Your Business” challenge when a few of her past connections didn’t understand how she went about expressing her emotions. Amaya also delivered a pretty epic speech: “I’m just not your cup of tea to be drinking, so don’t f***** drink it,” she told the Islanders, adding that she was a “sensitive gangster.”
From there, the two decided to explore their connection, and it seemed that Amaya finally found what she was looking for.
During their one-one-one date at the finale, the couple were given a scrapbook of photos of when they were younger and their families. Fans will recall that the two had a great time meeting each other’s families before the finale, and deeply connected on their Latino roots.
“Most of my best moments were with you,” Amaya told Bryan during their date. “With you, I don’t ever cry out of sadness. Every time I feel a heightened emotion with you, it’s always just happy tears.”
She continued, “You make me happier. You don’t understand how much it meant to me, that moment, of you standing up for me during the Standing on Business [challenge]. If my light is too bright for somebody, wear sunglasses or something. That is not a ‘me’ problem. But with you, you look right into the sun.”

Bryan then shared his feelings, and let Amaya know that he wanted them to become exclusive. “I just wanted to talk to you and basically let you know how much I care about you and how much you mean to me,” he began. “I definitely wanted to leave here letting you know that I want to make stuff exclusive with us and prioritize us. I wanna continue taking the right steps with you and to enter the outside world with you.”
After being named the winners of Season 7, Bryan chose to split the $100,000 prize with Amaya after choosing the envelope with the money.
Fans can see their favorite Love Island USA Season 7 stars together again for the epic reunion, which will premiere on August 25, on Peacock. The reunion will be hosted by Ariana Madix and Bravo’s Andy Cohen.
