Nicolas “Nic” Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen may have seemed to be a match made in heaven on the recently aired seventh season of Love Island USA. But, according to their co-star, Ace Green, Nic feels otherwise.

Speaking of the season seven runners-up during an interview with Speedy Morman, Ace alleged that Nic had informed him that there was no “romantic spark” between him and Olandria, despite what fans saw on the Ariana Madix-hosted show.

“Do you feel like Nic and Olandria’s relationship is real?” Speedy asked Ace on Complex’s 360 With Speedy, via The Shade Room on Instagram.

Then, after Ace failed to respond, Speedy pressed further, asking, “Is this you thinking, or is this your answer?”

Still, Ace just smiled as Speedy said, “I’m gonna assume that that’s your answer.”

“Mm-hmmm,” Ace replied. 

Although Ace stayed mum at first, he ultimately agreed that he was reacting in that manner because he considered Olandria a “close friend.”

“It really is tough for me because she just came out here for [Chelley Bissainthe]’s birthday. We all spent time together at the club. We were all kicking it, so I have a lot of respect for Olandria,” he explained.

Continuing on, Ace recalled a conversation he had with Nic about his relationship with Olandria.

“From the last conversation that I’ve had with Nic, it was a matter of, ’This is not a romantic spark.’ They just, they find each other attractive,” he shared. 

Also during the interview, Ace was asked if he felt that other couples from the seventh season were legitimate.

“Yeah, [Taylor Williams] and [Clarke Carraway], I know that’s for sure real,” he confirmed.
