There’s a new reality TV show about sisters that’s giving The Kardashians a run for its money. Hulu’s latest series, Love Thy Nader, follows the four Nader siblings as they each try to make it as models in New York, navigating their love lives and complicated sister dynamics along the way.
In the first few episodes, we get an introduction to each of the Nader sisters: Brooks, Mary Holland, Grace Ann, and Sarah Jane. One of the cast members, Mary Holland, appears to use AI on her phone multiple times throughout the season, often consulting it whenever a difficult decision needs to be made. Given the frequency with which she defaults to using it, fans are wondering why, exactly, Mary Holland does this so often, and now she’s given the answer.
Mary Holland Says She Can’t Stop Using AI
Each of the sisters plays a role within the Nader family, and Mary Holland, the second eldest, explains that she’s usually the peacekeeper. Whenever her siblings get into arguments, Mary Holland is usually the one to step in and keep things from boiling over. In the first three episodes of the season, eldest sister Brooks is struggling with the fallout of her breakup with Dancing With The Stars pro Gleb Savchenko.
When the Naders discover that Gleb has been cheating on Brooks, they encourage her to immediately cut him off. Brooks explained that she was devastated. “I’m disgusted by him. I’m scarred by what I saw. I can’t even mentally go there because the worst thing that could ever happen would be my personal life bleeding into my professional life and ruining an opportunity,” she says in Episode 2.
When Gleb texts Brooks that he doesn’t understand why she’s stopped responding to him, Mary Holland is there to support her sister. While they’re in Miami, Mary Holland consults the “chat” AI feature on her phone to help craft the perfect firm text response to Gleb.
Mary Holland is seen using AI so much throughout the series that it could almost appear like a paid integration. In reality, though, her use of AI isn’t an advertisement—it turns out that Mary Holland just relies on the technology that much. Decider spoke with the sisters in late August about the show, and Mary Holland set the record straight about her use of the platform:
You see in the show that I lean on AI for literally everything, so there’s no limits on what I’ve asked AI. I don’t even know if you girls use Chat. Chat is helpful! And you even see me lean on it a little too much. I have kind of a fight with her.
Mary Holland’s Sister Tease Her For Her Habit
The amount of time that Mary Holland defaults to consulting AI hasn’t been lost on her siblings. In the aforementioned interview, her sisters teased her about how dependent she’d become on speaking to her phone.
Brooks joked that she could see Mary Holland using the technology for even more important occasions down the road:
That’s really her thing. I’m pretty sure she’ll probably write her wedding vows one day with Chat. We gotta stop it somewhere. She turns into a robot!
“It’s a sci-fi reality show,” added youngest sibling Sarah Jane, joking at Mary Holland’s expense. That said, the sisters did end up using AI’s suggested wording to Gleb, as Brooks took the response and sent it as two strongly-worded texts to her ex-boyfriend.
This is not to say that Mary Holland is the only sibling who gets teased for her preferences. In Episode 3 of the series, Brooks admits a habit that might be even stranger: she loves using other people’s toothbrushes. Brooks tells the cameras that, if she had her way, she would never buy her own toothbrush, as she just prefers to use that of whomever she’s with.
Brooks admitted she used to use Gleb’s toothbrush while they were dating, and now, living in New York with her sisters, she’d been making her way through trying all of their toothbrushes as well. At the end of the episode, her middle sister Grace Ann walks in on Brooks using her pink electric toothbrush, horrified to learn this isn’t the first time Brooks has helped herself to it.

Love Thy Nader is an upcoming reality docuseries premiering this summer on Hulu and Freeform. Produced by Jimmy Kimmel’s Kimmelot and Smoking Baby Productions, the show follows Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model Brooks Nader and her three younger sisters—Mary Holland, Grace Ann, and Sarah Jane—as they transition from their hometown in Louisiana to the competitive modeling scene in New York City. The series offers an inside look at their glamorous lives, navigating high-profile fashion campaigns, elite social circles, and the dynamics of sisterhood.
Described as a coming-of-age journey, Love Thy Nader delves into themes of ambition, resilience, and family bonds. The Nader sisters, each pursuing their own modeling careers, lean on one another for support and inspiration. Brooks, who has also competed on Dancing with the Stars, serves as a role model for her siblings, encouraging them to dream big and achieve success in the fashion industry. Set against the backdrop of SoHo lofts and Manhattan’s elite social scene, the series explores what it truly means to “make it” in a city where dreams can either flourish or fade.
