Mackenzie McKee exclusively tells In Touch that reports she’s still legally married to Josh McKee are not true.

The upcoming Teen Mom: The Next Chapter episode “will confirm that I am indeed divorced and have been the whole time,” Mackenzie, 30, explains about the Thursday, April 17, episode of the MTV reality show.

“The judge that signed off on the dissolution of marriage just forgot to file it in the system,” she adds about the court error.

Reports surfaced on Monday, April 14, that no divorce had been filed in either where Mackenzie lives in Florida or Miami, Oklahoma, where Josh, 31, resides.

She is currently engaged to fiancé Khesanio Hall, who proposed in May 2024. Mackenzie revealed on March 31 that she’s pregnant and the couple is expecting twins.

The reality star fueled speculation that she might still be married to Josh after she revealed in the April 10, episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter that the two didn’t go to court for their divorce.

“We have been fully divorced for a year and a half maybe,” Mackenzie said. “When I was going through the divorce, I was in a financially really, really rough spot so I just drew up whatever I could online. We signed it and we didn’t go to court.”

Further in the episode, she looked up the divorce filing where she was listed as “not divorced” from her ex-husband, as the show ended in a cliffhanger with Mackenzie appearing surprised.

The Oklahoma native announced in July 2022 that she and Josh were splitting after 12 years together. They began dating in 2009 and married on August 17, 2013.

The former couple share three children: Gannon, 13, Jaxie, 10, and Broncs, 7.

“With all the messages I’m receiving and articles coming out, I wanted you guys to hear what’s going on from me alone,” Mackenzie wrote via Instagram along with two photos featuring Josh. “Sometimes things work and sometimes, no matter how hard you fight, it just doesn’t work out. I am breaking my silence about Josh and I being done.”

“I will always respect him as the father of my children but it’s time for me to find my happy,” she added.

The duo was introduced on 16 and Pregnant in 2011, and fans watched relationship unfold on Teen Mom 3 for the show’s one season in 2013. The pair resurfaced on Teen Mom OG when she joined the show in 2019.

Mackenzie exclusively told In Touch in April 2020 that despite trouble in her marriage to Josh, the two were bonded by their children.

“My family has [never] seen [a] divorce. I’m not saying that put pressure on me, but it’s just generations and generations. I would be the first [to] split up [a] family,” she explained, adding that if they weren’t raising a family, a split “would have been easy.”

“Whether he’s been a good husband or not, he’s always been a good dad since we got married,” she said at the time. “[The kids] love Josh.”

Mackenzie made her recent pregnancy announcement on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she appeared alongside her Teen Mom: The Next Chapter costar Briana DeJesus.

“No one knows I’m pregnant, but I am,” Mackenzie told Drew, 50. “There’s two in there.”

She jokingly added, “It was planned. Finally,” referring to how she underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) to start a family with Khesanio, 30.
