Madonna shared a glimpse into her relationship with footballer Akeem Morris.

The pop icon, 66, took to Instagram on Sunday, May 4, to celebrate the recent birthday of Morris, 29, sharing a carousel of photos and videos from his nightclub party. “Happy Birthday to my favorite Taurus ♉️ @akkmorris,” Madonna captioned her tribute which included a photo of the pair with their arms wrapped around each other.

In a posted video, Madonna sung “Happy Birthday” at the party, which also featured a performance by YG Marley. As Madonna sung, Morris, a New York-based soccer player who was born in Jamaica, was presented with a large circular birthday cake dotted with candles.

Additional photos in Madonna’s post showed the pair walking down a flight of stairs as Morris held a supportive hand behind the singer. Her final carousel snap showed Madonna and Morris posing closely together against a wall.

Madonna tagged Morris in several of the carousel’s photos.

Morris shared his own memories from the event, taking to his Instagram grid on Sunday to post a video of himself dancing with Madonna, who wore a lacy bar beneath a sheer open blouse. The “Cherish” singer maintained a straight face for the most part, but couldn’t help smiling at times as the pair got into the groove together.

“All I can say is thank you. Thank you wifey ❤️,” Morris captioned the post. “Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with me last night. Thank you to those who worked behind the scenes to create such an unforgettable vibe. It meant so much to have the people I love and respect all in one room. It was a special night, and the energy in the room was nothing but love. Blessings to @ygmarley for the performance 🇯🇲.”

Another photo in Morris’ carousel captured the duo dancing while gazing into each other’s eyes as Morris held his hands on Madonna’s waist. A further snap showed Madonna sitting on Morris’ lap while surrounded with loved ones.

The pair first sparked romance rumors in July 2024 when Morris was seen in an Instagram post shared by Madonna to showcase her Fourth of July celebrations, per People. The since-deleted post was followed by a New York City sighting in September 2024, with the pair photographed leaving a New York Fashion Week afterparty together in Soho.

Two months later, Morris shared a photo of Madonna sitting on his lap via an Instagram carousel, captioning the November 2024 post, “1BURNER ❤️‍🔥.”

As for Morris’ presence on Madonna’s social media profiles, the singer included two photos of Morris in a March, 2025 Instagram post that documented an Oscar party she threw at the time. One of the snaps showed Morris holding Madonna at the waist while another showed the pair sitting side-by-side in a car together.

According to PageSix, Morris’ 29th birthday celebration drew Madonna’s three youngest children, Mercy, 19, and twins Stella and Estere, 12.
