Mahogany Lox went viral in 2019 thanks to her hilariously sassy hip-hop hit, Take Your Man, but this artist isn’t about to be narrowed down to just one genre.
In fact, her repertoire is insanely diverse – her latest song, GASL!GHT has a grungier feel, while the 2021 Loving You is more stripped back and dream-like.
She’s not only dynamic when it comes to her music, however.
As a content creator and a model as well as a singer, Mahogany has a lot going on … and she’s putting her truest self forward, every step of the way.
We sat down with the multi-hyphenate once again, to hear more about her broad range of interests.
Plus, she shares her advice to anyone else who feels they’re being stifled by being put into a box.
Mahogany Has Never Wanted To Be Pinned Down
Asked if she’s always had such a wide range of interests, Mahogany answers with a resounding, “Yes!”
“I’ve always loved trying new things and challenging myself, and I love being able to share all the different parts of myself through social media.”
Speaking of social media, Mahogany points out that platforms like TikTok and Instagram have made it easier to do just that.
“These platforms allow you to showcase who you are and what you’re all about, across countless genres.”
Case in point: just as Mahogany has used the sites to share her music with the world, it’s also given her the opportunity to explore the other things she truly enjoys.
“In addition to my career goals in music and DJing, I also focus on fashion, beauty, health and fitness,” she beams.
Mahogany Taps Her Fans As Her Major Source Of Inspiration
So, a blossoming career in music, beauty, fitness and fashion … just where does Mahogany Lox derive her inspiration?
Outside of her own interests, Mahogany admits that she finds inspiration in a number of different places.

However, she explains, “If I were to narrow it down, my biggest source of inspiration comes from my experiences in life and love.”
And, naturally, her fanbase plays a major role.

One thing’s for sure: Mahogany Lox isn’t confined to just one genre, medium or interest.
In fact, that’s part of what makes her so endearing to her fans.
However, Mahogany knows all too well that for the most part, the world operates on putting people into neat little boxes.
She’s managed to push beyond that, though – and she’s only too happy to share her advice for other young women hoping to do the same.
“Always love yourself, believe in yourself, and know you are great, strong, and powerful.”
“Don’t value yourself based on someone else’s opinion of you,” she continues – noting that she’s well aware that sometimes, that can be easier said than done.
Still, she urges, “I know that can be hard, especially if you do post on social media and get unwelcome comments, but just know who you are – and remember that the people who take their time out to be rude to you are only looking for your attention. Why? Because you’re amazing.”
So, What’s Next?
From a burgeoning career as a content creator, to her ever-innovative new music, it’s safe to say, Mahogany Lox is headed for the big leagues.

“I have some exciting projects in the works right now, but I can’t say too much just yet,” she teases.
