Brothers Oren, Alon and Tal Alexander, once known for shaping the New York City and Miami skylines, have been accused by more than 60 victims, including a minor, of rape and sexual assault in alleged incidents dating back to 2009. The real estate moguls have pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges and denied any wrongdoing.

One of Oren’s accusers, Maria Suska, is not part of the legal proceedings against the brothers due to the statute of limitations in Florida, but she has chosen to speak out about her alleged assault, telling In Touch exclusively about that night at a party in Miami in 2014.

“Oren messaged me through Facebook, April 2014, and we haven’t met before. We only had, like, some mutual friends. So it was very spontaneous, you know, just random, like a random, flirty message,” Suska tells In Touch InvestigatesKristin Thorne, adding that Oren, 39, chatted with her for a bit before asking for her phone number and inviting her out to dinner at the Versace mansion.

“We texted back and forth, I would say, for about, like, a week before I actually met him for dinner … I went there thinking that, you know, he has romantic intentions, but when I get there, there’s 10 other girls that he didn’t mention whatsoever, and two promoters at a big table,” Suska continues.

Suska says that although Oren was “charming” and “flirty” with her at times, the overall “vibe” between him and the women was “very weird and awkward” because he mostly only spoke to the other men at the table.

Suska says that Oren left for “maybe 20 minutes,” and when he returned, he asked her to go upstairs with him to see the building’s watch tower. She says she accepted his offer because she “trusted him” and he “didn’t give me any red flags.”

“I followed him up there. And that’s unfortunately when, you know, he attacked me inside the watchtower,” she adds.

Suska admits that she didn’t file a police report at the time because she was “scared.”

“I blame myself a lot,” she explains. “That maybe I shouldn’t have went to the party, that I missed the red flags. … My mind was going, one side was saying I should do it because it’s the right thing to do, but another side was, you know, the fear was much more stronger. But I finally did file a police report last year in December.”

Oren’s attorney, Edward O’Donnell, told In Touch in June that Suska is trying to cash in on the case against the Alexander brothers. He cited an email in which Suska reached out to the Miami District Attorney’s office to ask for a recommendation for a personal injury lawyer because she wanted to sue Oren. The D.A.’s office responded with the name of an attorney.

“The prosecutor knows who the personal injury lawyers are that are suing the Alexander brothers,” O’Donnell said.

A rep for the D.A.’s office told In Touch that they did not give Suska a recommendation, saying in a statement, “The e-mail indication of the media-named attorneys handling the civil lawsuits is a response to a direct question, not a referral.”

Meanwhile, Suska’s attorney, Todd Poses, told In Touch, “It is both predictable and pathetic that counsel for the Alexanders is name-calling the victims as opportunistic for seeking civil remedies after being [allegedly] trafficked and raped. Absent a time machine where the victims could change their fate and erase the horrors they suffered, the alternative remains holding the Alexanders financially accountable for the lives they have ruined.”

Suska says that when she saw the Alexander brothers on the news, she was “shocked,” but she believed the stories of the other women who accused Oren and twins Alon and Tal, 38, of assault and rape.

“All this time, I thought it was only me,” she concludes. “And I thought, who’s gonna believe me? He’s powerful. He has a lot of connections, a lot of friends. Everybody’s gonna laugh it off. You know, I’m scared. So when I read that there’s other women coming out, I said, ‘Oh my gosh, this is shocking,’ but then it was believable, of course.”

Oren, Alon and Tal remain behind bars in New York City and are slated to go to trial early next year.
