Love Is Blind has firmly established itself as one of the most beloved reality TV dating shows, captivating audiences with its unique approach to romance. Having just wrapped up its ninth season, the series has also inspired a number of international versions, all available for streaming on Netflix.
This week brings exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting more pod-based drama, as the creators of Love Is Blind have announced that Season 10 is on its way. The anticipation for the reopening of the pods is almost over.
Netflix confirmed that the tenth season of Love Is Blind is complete and ready for viewers. Fans can mark their calendars for February 10th, when the new season is set to premiere, sticking to the franchise’s tradition of releasing two seasons each year.
Season 10 Will Premiere In February
Just this week, Netflix announced that Season 10 of Love Is Blind was wrapped and ready to hit the small screen. The official premiere date for the new season is February 10th. This is in keeping with the franchise’s usual schedule, which historically has released two seasons a year.
In fact, in the past, Netflix has even deliberately dropped the show around Valentine’s Day, for both singles and couples to enjoy. While the city for Season 10 hasn’t officially been confirmed as of this article’s writing, past rumors have mentioned that the cast members were likely pulled from the Boston area.
So far, those involved with the show have been quite tight-lipped about Season 10. The hosts, Vanessa and Nick Lachey, have even been cagey with their comments about the upcoming season, and have also refused to confirm the city that will be featured.
Vanessa previously spoke with E! News about how she appreciated the show changed locations each season, noting that each city created a different vibe for the franchise:
The beauty of Love Is Blind being in different cities each season is that you get the character of that season, that city, and what comes along with it. [In] some cities, faith is more important. Some cities, work is more important. Some cities, drinking is more important—it varies.
“They’re just people looking for love. It definitely—in the evolution of the show, and it being nine seasons—people know what to expect. And every now and then you get someone that slips through the cracks and who isn’t in it for the right reasons,” she added.”
Season 9 Ended In Surprise
Vanessa’s comments may refer to the end of the most recent season, which took many viewers by surprise. Though three couples made it to the altar, for the first time in the show’s history, not a single pair ended up getting married. This made it the first season in the reality TV show’s history that did not produce any married couples.
This isn’t to say that there weren’t any happy endings for the cast members, though. Another major surprise took place at the reunion, when it was revealed that one of the contestants, Megan Walerius, had not only met a new partner and gotten engaged in the short time between finishing the show and filming the reunion, but she’d also given birth to a baby with her new fiancé.
At the reunion, Megan spoke about how her new relationship had been a whirlwind, but that she was happy with the way things had ended up:
We got pregnant three months into dating. We definitely had our ups and downs—I’m not gonna say it was perfect—but Paul’s been amazing and we’re very happy.
Megan’s new partner, Paul, was present in the audience to support her at the reunion.
