In a heartbreaking development, the cause of death for Martin Short’s daughter, Katherine, has been officially confirmed. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has released her death certificate, revealing that Katherine died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. This tragic news comes just a week after her untimely passing.
Katherine Short, a dedicated social worker, was the adopted daughter of the “Father of the Bride” star and his late wife, Nancy Dolman. The couple welcomed her into their family in 1982. Katherine was found deceased on February 23 at the age of 42, with her death initially suspected to be a suicide.
A spokesperson for Martin Short, known for his role in “Only Murders in the Building,” expressed the family’s sorrow in a statement to Page Six. “It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short,” the statement read. “The Short family is devastated by this loss and asks for privacy at this time.
