Matt Damon and George Clooney function as one of Hollywood’s most famous set of friends. Much like other co-stars from sitcoms, from major franchises, and from other facets of entertainment, these two have an unbreakable bond that has lasted for decades.
Recently, Damon gave a speech about his dear old pal, and in that speech, he revealed a previous Clooney prank that went way too far.
Let’s find out what Clooney did below!
Matt Damon Has A Long History In The Entertainment Business
With a history in professional acting dating back to the 1980s, Matt Damon has seen and done it all in entertainment. Not only has he turned heads with his performances on screen, but he has been celebrated for his work behind the camera, as well.
Damon rose to prominence in the 1990s on the heels of his time in Good Will Hunting. Not only was he sublime in the film, but he wrote the thing, and he took home an Oscar for his script work.
From there, all systems were go, and Damon would finish the decade in style with movies like Saving Private Ryan Dogma, and The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Since becoming a star, Damon has had an immeasurably successful career, starring in popular franchises, while also spearheading other ones to greatness.
Over time, Damon has had a number of famous friends that he has collaborated with on more than one occasion. One such friend is none other than George Clooney, a man that Damon has done some great stuff with.
Matt Damon And George Clooney Are Longtime Friends Who Have Worked On Many Films Together
According to People, “The two first met in 1999, right when Clooney was coming off of his breakout, Emmy-nominated stint on NBC’s ER.”
In 2001, Clooney and Damon would co-star in Ocean’s Eleven, and from there, their friendship officially took off.
Through the years, the pair would work together on more than one occasion. They each appeared in the two Ocean’s sequels, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Syriana, and Monument’s Men. That’s one heck of a list of films, and as you’d imagine, fans would love to see these two link up for more projects.
Given their close friendship, each man has had some kind things to say about the other.
“He’s somebody whose opinion I really value. If I’m working on a script, I’m sending it to him for notes; if I’m doing a movie I’m showing him a cut and asking for suggestions,” Damon said of Clooney.

It’s always nice to hear stories from the mouths of friends, but when someone is a notorious prankster like Clooney, some of these stories can get a bit intense.
Case and point, the 2022 Kennedy Center Honors ceremony/ Matt Damon had a few things to say about his pal, revealing a particularly bad prank that the star pulled off.
At The Kennedy Center Honors 2022, Matt Damon Revealed A Wild Prank From George Clooney’s Past
According to Damon, “It has been said that my friend George Clooney is the last of the true movie stars. So, I got to thinking about what exactly that meant.”
“Of course, a number of past Kennedy Center honorees have certainly been movie stars in that classic sense, actors of class and sophistication. Cary Grant, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck. And then I think of George, a man who once defecated in Richard Kind’s kitty litter box as a joke. A man who once stole Bill Clinton’s stationery and wrote fake notes to actors about how much the president loved their movies.”
Shocking, right?
Clooney himself went on the SmartLess podcast to reveal the details.
“I scoop up some cat s**** for a couple of weeks. And then the light bulb goes off and I realize what I must do. Which is take a s*** in the cat box,” Clooney so succinctly put it.
The actor then gave a detailed account, which we won’t go into here, as the results are all the same.
Are we at all surprised that Clooney did something like this? Not really. This is the same guy that helped South Park become a fixture on the small screen back in the 1990s, after all.
Though it was a joke, Kind did not find it funny, while Clooney could hardly contain his laughter.
George Clooney’s cat prank joke clearly went too far, and given his openness about it, we can only imagine what he won’t fess up to.
