The controversy arose when Kelly Dodd, 50, shared on TikTok that Meghan, 41, gave Ritalin to her child. This prompted an investigation by Child Protective Services (CPS), which ultimately resulted in her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, 55, obtaining full custody of their three children. This development sheds new light on the custody proceedings involving the former Real Housewives of Orange County star.

As reported by Page Six on November 20, Meghan allegedly administered Ritalin to Hayes on several occasions despite him not having an attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnosis. She reportedly also asked the school nurse to do the same.

The situation escalated when the nurse informed CPS. Jim and his wife, Kortnie O’Connor, 41, who he married in 2022, were notified and promptly returned to Missouri from their residence in Tennessee.

In addition to the nurse alerting CPS, Jim and his wife, Kortnie O’Connor, 41, who he married in 2022, were also contacted and immediately flew back to Missouri from their home in Tennessee.

Following the investigation, Meghan was restricted to supervised visits with her and Jim’s three children, who also include Hayes’ twin brother, seven-year-old Hart, and their daughter, eight-year-old Aspen. Currently, she is allowed to see them twice a week, and a temporary restraining order has been granted.

According to a separate report from The U.S. Sun, Jim and Kortnie moved the three children into their new $4.1 million Nashville home after Meghan’s custody loss, and they will be living there part-time for the time being.

As the outlet noted, the couple purchased the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home, which is located in Franklin, 21 miles outside of Nashville, in October 2024, and months later, they sold their seven-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom home in St. Louis for $7.75 million.

Jim and Kortnie’s new home boasts 4,700 square feet, a Southern-style front porch, lush landscaping, and a two-stall barn with a goat barn, potting house, and a shed.

Meghan and Jim are due in court on December 9, when a more permanent arrangement will be made.
