Meghan Markle’s actions might put Prince Harry’s Christmas plans with King Charles at risk amid allegations that she violated an agreement with the Royal Family.

After stepping down as senior royals in January 2020, Harry and Meghan committed to financial independence and ceased performing official royal duties. While they retained their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, they relinquished their ‘Royal Highness’ status, with Buckingham Palace emphasizing these titles should not be used for commercial gain.

Since their departure, Harry’s communication with his father and older brother has reportedly been limited. The couple has also been vocal in their criticism of the Royal Family, particularly regarding their treatment while living in the UK.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, author Kaitlyn Greenidge recounted a visit to a Manhattan home owned by Meghan’s wealthy friend, Victoria Jackson. Greenidge claimed that a staff member introduced Meghan as the “Duchess of Sussex,” even though only two people were present.

Royal experts have expressed surprise at this report, interpreting it as evidence of Meghan’s continued association with her royal status. British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard remarked to Fox News Digital, “This is not protocol, let alone Royal protocol.”

She continued, “It’s peculiar and underscores that Meghan places tremendous value on her Royal status. Meghan will hold onto her Duchess of Sussex title as it gives her a sense of significance. The title remains beneficial for Meghan’s business ventures, especially in the United States. It sparks conversation and keeps her in the spotlight.”

British journalist Jane Moore also criticised Meghan for leveraging her Royal connections for personal gain, writing in The Sun, “The Sussexes supposedly ‘Megxited’ from the UK five years ago for a life of ‘financial independence’, yet they continue to exploit their Royal connections for their own commercial benefit.”

She further stated that the Sussexes’ use of their “bestowed” titles is “hilariously egotistical and breathtakingly hypocritical.”

The revelation about Meghan being introduced as a duchess comes after Closer reported Harry is hoping his father will invite him to spend Christmas with him in the UK, as they try to mend their relationship.

An insider disclosed, “Harry is on tenterhooks waiting to get the go-ahead to visit King Charles in England at Christmas and is adamant that he needs to be with his father any chance he gets.”

It is argued the claim about Meghan could annoy King Charles and discourage him from inviting Harry to spend the festive season with him.

Harry met his father at his London residence in September in an effort to improve relations between them. It was their first face-to-face meeting in 19 months.
