Melania Trump’s recent fashion choice at the 2025 White House turkey pardoning event left many scratching their heads. Her ensemble, meant to be chic, fell short due to a mismatched pairing. She donned a brown knee-length skirt and a black turtleneck sweater, which was a promising start. However, she topped it off with a bomber jacket in a darker brown shade, which clashed with the rest of the outfit. While the neutral tones seemed to aim for cohesion, the bomber jacket was more suited for a bold, fashion-forward setting rather than a family-friendly event. This misstep was made even more apparent next to President Donald Trump, who was dressed sharply in an all-black suit complemented by a red tie, perfectly in tune with the occasion.

Melania is no stranger to controversial fashion choices. In 2018, she infamously wore the “I really don’t care, do u?” jacket amid backlash over the Trump administration’s immigration policies. That piece cost her a mere $39, intentionally stirring public debate. In contrast, her turkey-pardoning ensemble came with a heftier price tag. The mismatched bomber jacket, designed by Anine Bing, is valued at around $400. Although Melania’s wardrobe isn’t funded by taxpayers, it’s not clear if she purchased the jacket herself or if it was gifted by the brand for exposure. Regardless, saving it for a more suitable occasion might have been a wiser choice.

Jumping ahead to the festive season, Melania has turned her attention to Christmas preparations. On November 24, 2025, she was seen welcoming the White House Christmas tree from Korson’s Tree Farms in Michigan, which had the honor of supplying the tree for the year. For this event, Melania’s attire was much more appropriate. She wore a chic white coat that exuded elegance, paired with crimson gloves that added a festive touch.
If Melania’s holiday look inspires you, similar attire can be found, albeit at a cost. While it’s not confirmed if her stunning Dior coat was custom-made, you can find a similar version online. The price, however, is steep, with the Dior coat listed at $6,800. For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, plenty of alternatives are available. For instance, a stylish dupe on Amazon, complete with a belt, is priced at just $31.99, making it an accessible option for those wanting to emulate her festive flair without breaking the bank.

Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet, but apparently, Melania Trump is already looking ahead to Christmas. On November 24, 205, the first lady stood in front of the White House to welcome its massive Christmas tree onto the premises. The tree in question came from Korson’s Tree Farms, a Michigan-area farm, which received the coveted honor of supplying the Trump administration with their tree for 2025. Unsurprisingly, Melania wore another flashy ‘fit for the occasion. However, unlike her mismatched Thanksgiving look, the former model’s chic white coat was very fitting. Plus, her crimson gloves added the perfect pop of Christmas cheer.
If you’re inspired by Melania’s Christmas tree ensemble, then you’re in luck. While it’s unclear if the ridiculously expensive look was custom-made for Melania, a similar version of her gorgeous Dior coat is available to purchase online. Unfortunately, the look will set you back a pretty penny (well, a lot of pretty pennies). According to Dior’s website, a white coat that looks incredibly similar to the one that the first lady wore will cost you several thousand dollars — $6,800 to be exact. But, if that’s too steep for your pockets, there are hundreds of similar designs across other websites like Amazon. One great dupe, available for $31.99, even comes with a belt!
