Melissa Gorga‘s shore house in New Jersey was recently hit by a tornado.

In a series of posts shared to her Instagram page, the 46-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star showcased shocking footage captured on a security camera as Joe Gorga, 50, and others cleaned up the damage at their waterfront pool.

“A tornado just blasted through my Shore House … literally came through for one minute, wrecked the joint and left,” Melissa announced in the caption of a video shared on July 25.

In addition to furniture and loungers being blown around by the tornado, a large cabana was seen sliding into the pool. 

While the footage was surely scary to see, many of Melissa’s fans and followers didn’t feel that “wrecked” was the right word.

“We need to discuss the meaning of the word ‘wrecked,’” one person said.

“So the cabana fell in the pool?” another asked. 

A third suggested that Melissa take down the post.

“I would probably take this down. It really offensive to people that have actually had wreckage from a tornado. I can’t believe you actually posted that,” they stated.

Two days later, on July 27, Melissa spoke of the aftermath as Joe and some male friends cleaned up.

“The aftermath… Believe it or not we recovered everything and nothing even has a scratch on it,” she revealed.

According to the videos shared, it seemed that the cabana was the hardest thing to tackle, taking several men to get it out of the pool. 

Still, Melissa’s fans and followers didn’t appreciate the drama.

“Stop with the theatrics … It wasn’t a tornado,” one person alleged.

“I’m actually shocked you posted this after how poorly the first video went,” said someone else.

“Read the room. Be grateful you have a second home. This is ridiculous,” concluded a third.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently on pause.
