Mercedes “MJ” Javid recently made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, where she opened up about her separation from her husband, Tommy Feight, and their current relationship status. During the show, MJ, who stars in The Valley: Persian Style, discussed a variety of topics, including her final breaking point in the marriage, how they are co-parenting their six-year-old son Shams, and whether she is ready to jump back into the dating scene.

One of the highlights of the episode was when MJ responded to Tommy’s conversation with her mother, Vida Javid. She also provided updates on her friendship with Reza Farahan and shared her thoughts on the possibility of Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards reconciling.

Reflecting on the interaction between Tommy and Vida, MJ described it as “really intense.” During the January 8 episode of WWHL, she expressed gratitude towards her mother, saying, “It made me want to call my mom and check on her and thank her for having my back. It’s not that Tommy doesn’t have my back, it’s just that my mom usually doesn’t, and … whenever she’s compassionate to me, it just melts my heart.”

Despite Vida’s often critical nature, which MJ admits can make her feel more intense when her mother is around, she was clear in stating that Vida should not be held accountable for the breakdown of her marriage with Tommy. MJ emphasized that while her mother’s support is not always present, when it is, it means the world to her.

While MJ admitted to getting “more intense” when her mother was around due to Vida being hypercritical of her, she noted that Vida shouldn’t be blamed for her and Tommy’s failed marriage.

As for Tommy’s emotional confessional, MJ confirmed she still loved him.

“I didn’t leave the marriage because I stopped loving him … He’s the love of my life,” she admitted, adding that she missed “everything” about him.

“Tommy and I are in a really good place. We talk every day, of course. Multiple times. I think the quality of our relationship is more authentic. That was the year of the snake, and now it’s the horse, and so we shed what didn’t make sense about the relationship,” she continued.

Then, after noting that coparenting was going “really well,” MJ addressed her final straw, saying, “I felt like on the Fourth of July I might have hit my last straw. We had been done [filming] but … I’ve lived in a lot of disappointment and heartbreak over the years, and it stopped making sense.”

MJ went on to deny that Tommy’s inappropriate language around Shams was a factor in their split, and she said it was “too soon” to date.

Also on the live broadcast, MJ said she was shocked by the couples on her show being so transparent about their marriages and revealing that they slept separately. She also denied having regrets about telling Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, 44, that people were talking about her house hunt.

“I don’t regret it because I was so focused on protecting our bond. It’s a very important opportunity that she and I are close again, and I was hyperprotective over that,” she explained.

Later, on the WWHL: After Show, MJ was asked how her relationship with Reza had been since her split from Tommy, and whether he’d spent time with Shams.

“My relationship with Reza is strong,” she confirmed. “[And] in the summer, Shams and Reza had a lot of really fun pool time … [They have] a phenomenal [relationship]. He knows and loves Reza.”

“He’s a really good Guncle. He’s an amazing Guncle,” she added.

MJ also mentioned, after noting on the live show that she “[loved]” working for Mauricio at The Agency, that she believed he and Kyle were rekindling their marriage.

“[Kyle] said that she was hoping that Mauricio’s place was going to be temporary so that they can repair things, and then when he got the house, it seemed more permanent. But he, even watching that, might have pushed them together, and the holidays and the kids, so everything that we saw on Instagram was very real, and I think they’re rekindling,” she declared.

The Valley: Persian Style season one airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
