Meredith Marks has taken a stand against Britani Bateman following an alleged hair-pulling incident on a flight, which was highlighted in this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
While reflecting on their ongoing conflict, Meredith, 53, recounted her side of the story, and Lisa Barlow, 50, voiced her unwavering support for Meredith. Meanwhile, Britani, 54, expressed her disappointment over what she perceived as Lisa’s betrayal, although she found comfort in the solidarity from the rest of the cast.
“[Britani] harbors a lot of animosity towards me, but I don’t feel the same way because you need to care about someone to actually hate them, and frankly, she doesn’t interest me enough,” Meredith remarked during a November 11 interview with Bravo HQ.
Regarding any possible remorse, Meredith continued, “Do I regret that her feelings were hurt because I chose an inappropriate moment? Yes, I do. But beyond that, no. I stand by my words because they are true.”
Reflecting on Britani’s suggestion that Meredith’s husband, Seth Marks, was having an affair, Lisa said that she sided with Meredith because what Britani said was “wrong” and “gross.”
“It’s wrong. It’s gross. It was [in] bad taste,” she noted, mentioning that she didn’t think it was fair for the cast to “hold [her] responsible for Meredith’s alleged actions.”
While Britani was upset that Lisa immediately took Meredith’s side, she noted that she “was the only one … on that side of history.”
“I gave her a hard line in the sand. I said, ‘Look, if you are condoning and endorsing and co-signing on Meredith’s behavior right now, and especially Meredith’s behavior toward me, then you and I are gonna have a problem’ … And she goes, ‘Well, then I choose Meredith’ … So, it became the Lisa and Meredith Show and then the rest of us,” she revealed. “[But] I feel really fortunate, blessed, thankful, grateful, whatever you wanna call it to have everyone else on my side.”
Elsewhere, Whitney Rose, 39, said that Meredith and Britani were “polar opposites in every way, shape, and form,” and she suspected they would “never get along.” She also wondered why Meredith couldn’t forgive her for bringing up the rumor about Seth.
“We’ve forgiven each other for a lot of things,” she noted as Mary Cosby, 53, admitted that Meredith seemed agitated “by anything Britani [did].”
As for how the cast felt as a whole, Mary said they “all sided with Britani a little bit.”
“We felt like Meredith was in the wrong of this. So when we got back, we all still felt that Britani deserved an apology and Meredith should not have behaved in the way she did,” she noted.
Also speaking to Bravo HQ, Bronwyn Newport, 40, declared herself “pro-Meredith.”
“You see me many times kind of saying to Britani, ‘Stop it.’ I think there’s something fundamental about the two of them that they just don’t get along. They’re just oil and water. And Britani doesn’t know when to leave well enough alone,” she explained.
Then, after admitting to worrying that she played a role in Meredith and Britani’s drama since she was involved in the unicorn being thrown overboard, Bronwyn suggested that things wouldn’t have gone “off the rails” if Meredith had recognized that she “needed to recalibrate.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
