Miley Cyrus Tells Pamela Anderson She Always Wanted to Be Her: ‘the Tattoos, the Hair, All of It’

Miley Cyrus and Pamela Anderson got together to talk about their impressive careers — with Cyrus admitting that Anderson is her all-time idol.

In a video shared via Instagram on Monday, January 27, to promote their new movie The Last Showgirl — Anderson stars in the film, while Cyrus’s song “Beautiful That Way” appears on the soundtrack — Cyrus, 32, told Anderson, 57: “Ever since I was little, it was only Pam when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would say you. And the whole thing. The tattoos, the hair, all of it. That’s all I wanted to do, I wanted to be a showgirl!”

Cyrus said that the way Anderson has evolved, from Baywatch bombshell to highly-respected actress and activist, has truly inspired her own career. “I’ve had so many different pivots and evolutions and — one might say — detours within my path,” she said. “But it always ends up coming back around to make the next stage of who we are. Something that’s more potent, something that’s more real.”

In their heartfelt conversation, both stars agreed that they try not to regret decisions from the past. “Funnily enough when I look back, all the mistakes, anything I was unsure of or I didn’t understand, I am so proud of every moment and now every stage of my life,” said Cyrus. “I would not go back and change anything. Except a couple things I was wearing!”

Anderson admitted that she had previously told directors she wanted to “let everything go” from her past, until she realized the power of bringing her younger self into her performances. “I’m not ashamed of my life,” she said. “I don’t need to let anything go.”

Anderson also commented on The Last Showgirl’s supposed “snub” from the 2025 Oscar nominations, saying she hadn’t expected to be included in the first place. “Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected,” she said. She previously told Elle, “Doing the work is the win. That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s so nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”

The cute conversation between the two huge stars comes a few weeks after Cyrus wrote via Instagram, following her song’s Golden Globe nomination: “I am continuing to root for [Pamela]. It’s so fun to watch her shine. Thank you Gia Coppola for inviting me to be a part of your gem.”
