Miley Cyrus’ ‘soul aches’ for Los Angeles wildfire victims as she remembers losing her home in 2018 blaze

Miley Cyrus shared an emotional note to those affected by the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires as she reflected on her own house burning down several years ago.

“This is a photo taken of my front porch in 2018 after losing our house in the Woolsey fires,” she wrote on her Instagram Story Saturday alongside a photo of her destroyed Malibu, Calif., abode.

“It’s a feeling you don’t ever forget. Walking up to the door you would pass through daily; looking forward to being greeted by the ones you love like you always do but instead being met by a pile of ash and rubble.”

“My soul aches for those who are experiencing this devastation firsthand and I cry for my city,” the pop star, 32, went on.

“It’s beyond heartbreaking. Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream’ but the reality today is wreckage and destruction.”

She also shared links to organizations she was “personally supporting” as Los Angeles continues to be consumed by the blazes, including the Malibu Foundation, which she helped launch in 2018.

She concluded, “Time, resources and dedication from inside and outside of our community will heal us, but it hurts deeply for now…… Love always, Miley.”

Cyrus shared the multi-million dollar mansion that was flattened to ashes with her now ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.

Luckily, the pair and their pets were unharmed, as they were able to seek refuge in her other $2.5 million Southern California estate.

Many of Cyrus’ celebrity peers have also donated to first responders fighting the intense fires destroying thousands of acres of Los Angeles as well as those who have lost their residences.

Kim Kardashian, 44, is donating “critical resources” to first responders as well as underwear, clothing, and socks to those who have been left with nothing but the clothes on their backs via her Skims brand.

Jamie Lee Curtis donated $1 million to the relief efforts, while Paris Hilton, who lost her Malibu beach house to the Palisades Fire, launched a relief fund through her 11:11 Media Impact and donated $100,000 of her personal money. She said she would additionally match up $100,000 in donations.

Halle Berry said she was packing up her “entire closet” to donate to a boutique called +COOP, which was welcoming those in need of clothes after being displaced from the fires. Sharon Stone also encouraged people to donate.

On Friday, Jennifer Garner teamed up with chef José Andrés, who runs the not-for-profit World Central Kitchen, to hand out food for victims of the fire.

The original Palisades Fire erupted on Tuesday and has since burned more than 20,000 acres across the Palisades and Malibu, and began threatening Brentwood Saturday morning.

At least five other fires have scorched Los Angeles as well, with the Eaton Fire consuming 14,000 acres and counting.

Hundreds of thousands of Angelenos have been displaced with no end in sight as the Santa Ana winds are expected to intensify next week.
