Joely Richardson is showing her support and affection for her brother-in-law Liam Neeson as news spreads about his new romance with Pamela Anderson.
The former Baywatch actress, 58, recently shared a sweet and playful post on Instagram celebrating the release of their new comedy film, The Naked Gun. The post included candid photos of herself and Neeson, 73, sharing lighthearted moments on set.
“The Naked Gun is finally in theatres! Bring your friends, family, lovers… whoever… just go and have a laugh… it’s good for you!” Anderson wrote on August 1. Accompanying the caption were shots of Neeson sprinkling popcorn over her head in a romantic and silly gesture. She finished with a warm invite: “I’ll see you there 🤍🍿.”
Joely, the sister of Liam’s late wife Natasha Richardson, left a heartfelt response in the comments, sharing seven red heart emojis — a simple but touching show of love and support.
Joely Richardson, known for her roles in The Patriot and Nip/Tuck, and Natasha — a Tony Award-winning actress — are daughters of legendary actress Vanessa Redgrave and filmmaker Tony Richardson. Natasha and Liam’s story began back in 1993, when they starred opposite each other in a Broadway revival of Anna Christie. They married a year later on July 3, 1994, and had two sons, Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28.
Tragically, Natasha died in March 2009 after a skiing accident in Quebec’s Mont Tremblant. Joely has been open about her sister’s passing over the years, once sharing a touching black-and-white photo of the two sisters as she reflected on turning 60.
“Me and my sister Tasha. On my birthday people seemed astonished that I was happy to be turning sixty,” Joely wrote. “Why wouldn’t I be? It’s not like the numbers jumped from 25 to 60. All the years and decades in between were LIVED. Now I get to be this number and investigate how I find it. ’60 is the new 40’ people say — I say ’Why does it need to be? I did that one 2 decades ago.’ ”
Meanwhile, Liam’s current romance with Pamela began on the set of The Naked Gun sequel. A source close to the movie told People in July, “It’s a budding romance in the early stages. It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other.” The two are reportedly “enjoying each other’s company” as they promote their comedy together.

At the New York premiere, Pamela gushed about Liam, calling him “kind, sweet and funny.” Liam quickly returned the praise. “Pam is very silly too,” he said in a July 28 interview with E! News. “She’s a great woman.”
Their undeniable chemistry even sparked questions on the Today show. When asked by host Craig Melvin about their relationship status, Pamela playfully deflected: “I don’t understand the question,” while Liam shared, “We discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry, as two actors.”
Liam has been open about his admiration for Pamela. Last October, he told People, “With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with. I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with.”
