Nick Reiner, son of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, recently faced arrest in connection to their murders following a series of intense, drug-induced “outbursts.” Before his arrest, he had been warned about being evicted from his parents’ home.
An insider revealed to the Daily Mail on Monday that Nick had been residing in their guesthouse, a place he had previously damaged multiple times. “It had been like a revolving door throughout his adulthood,” the source explained.
The source described Nick’s behavior as erratic, noting that he would indulge in methamphetamine use, leading to days without sleep and resulting in destructive outbursts, such as breaking objects and punching walls. “He had no control,” the insider noted, recalling an incident where Nick “punched the bathroom wall.”
According to the source, Nick was “a ticking time bomb,” with his escalating drug use causing increasing concern for his parents, who were at their wits’ end.
The tension in the household was reportedly exacerbated by frequent arguments, as Nick’s parents repeatedly issued an ultimatum: either he would agree to take medication and quit drugs, or he would have to leave their home.
The 32-year-old allegedly once threatened his sister, Romy Reiner, for confronting him, and “all hell broke loose.”
“His parents threatened to call authorities multiple times, but in the end didn’t,” the source alleged.
“Nick would reportedly find the aftermath of his rages funny and “brag [about] how he could get away with anything.”
“He laughed about destroying his parents’ guesthouse more than once,” the insider continued. “He was so nonchalant about it.”
Nick, who has been in and out of rehab, would also allegedly take “money from his parents for drugs and prostitutes.”
“He would talk about this stuff in meetings, but then stopped going because he said it was too cultish,” the insider claimed.
During a 2018 interview on the “Dopey” podcast, Nick recalled a meth-fueled rage that left him “up for days” and “punching out some things in [the] guest house,” such as a TV and lamp
“Everything in the guest house got wrecked,” he said.
Nick was arrested Sunday after his parents were found stabbed to death at their Los Angeles home. He is being held at Twin Towers Correctional Facility and is reportedly on suicide watch.
Insiders told The Post that Rob and Michele’s daughter, Romy, found their bodies.
